No Man's Sky [PS4, PS5, XO, XBSX|S, PC, NX, XGP]

The upcoming second quarter is looking so good. Housemarque's Alienation this month (okay, still Q1), Ratchet & Clank in April, Uncharted 4 in May and No Man's Sky in June. :runaway: And Game of Thrones is back next month too!!!! :runaway: :runaway::runaway:

@DieH@rd: nah ,as good as that was, this one is from the past and the future at the same time ! The feeling of exploration And wonder emnating from the image is simply unmatched.

As for the price, IMO, they are seriously limiting their audience by pricing it at $60. There is so much of mystery surrounding this game that those curious ones will not risk it at that price. Just like I haven't bought The Witness yet due to the $40 tag. I do not know whether The Witness can hold me with just drawing lines ! At $20 I can try it but not at 40.

Its a very subjective thing .

For No Man's Sky, I am convinced about me enjoying it, even i f I spend days just trying to find my way out of one planet. I love the send eof wonder an di will find it here, I know ! But the number of ppl curious about this game is really high and they would have jumped in at a lower price point. $60 is too prohibitive for trying out something that might be very eccentric and new.

Just my two cents. If it was $30, every ps4 owner wo has heard of the fame would want to buy it .
You seem to only buy games half price apparently. Do you also apply this principle with other stuff you buy?

Seriously The Witness is a gem, a game I'll remember forever. I can't say this for many 'AAA' games I have played.

Just... Announces no man's sky support Psvr and I'll bite that 60 dollars price.

NO PSVR support? Probably will still buy it but I will look for review first and probably will buy the pc version

- probably cheaper
- probably have crazy awesome future with mods

Quite the contrary, have bought every game on the ps4 at full price and on day 1, including indie gems like "The Swindle" and "SOMA". The only one I waited for a price drop was " Life is Strange" becuase I was wary of the teen theme. And in case it was episodic, which can all be bought in one go later for a full game experience.

Like I said, this and The Witness are unique and difficult to explain but both have a very high curiosity quotient among gamers. A lower price point can get them a much bigger audience compared to the numbers that will buy it now, at this price. Not every game can garner this amount of hype and , IMO, a lower price point which brings in ppl who are on the edge is a better preposition than a $60 price point which let's only the the totally convinced in.

It s a business decision anyway. I am saying what I feel would have made it much more popular and made people less skeptical about buying it and reviewing it.

Or its because of the hype, Sony decide it's 60 dollars?

To "increase the perceived quality", so to speak.

This really is masterful promotion. For two years they've been showing off the planets and lifeforms which all looks very cool, only with the occasional glimpses of other ships but no real detail or context and lots of folks, myself included, were becoming sceptical on the longevity of planetary exploration as the premise for the game.

Then a few months before release they drop the bombshell that it's just an option for gathering resources and there's this whole big universe full of civilisation, with factions and pirates and trading and crafting and an economy. I post I want to see some Elite DNA in there and BAM! Elite DNA.

It must have been torture for Hello Games to keep this under wraps for so long, particularly with quite a few people admittedly saying it looks very cool, but also questioning the long-term appeal. I can imagine you'll be visiting a lot of planets early on as you upgrade your equipment and ship then they'll be less reliant on raiding planets except for the odd specialised resource. Perhaps you'll be able to get by with trading/crafting for the most part when you're further into the game.

This is definitely my most anticipated game of 2016 and that's saying something with both a re-imagined Ratchet & Clank game and Uncharted 4 game coming out.

edit: I should stop posting until after I watch videos, he's basically just confirmed everything I speculated. YES!

Aren't the goggles part of his space faring equpiment? How else would he have a HUD in view?
The HUD is part of the pressure suit which you're always wearing. This is how you cope with trillions of planets with different environments and atmospheres.

Why it's now have tearing? I don't remember it have tearing in previous gameplay videos
Because most of the previous gameplay videos were of the PC version played with the DS4 controller. These previews are actually the first time people are playing the PS4 version, (E3 2015 demos were on PCs btw).
