Nintendo to buy Capcom??? Announcement next week???

Just in guys! Nintendo will be buying out Square Enix! Isn't that amazing?! I heard it at www.fanboysarefullofshit.com and www.Idontneedcommonsense.org! The evidence is obvious. Square Enix is making games for Nintendo so they must favor the Gamecube! This most definately means Nintendo is buying them out!

1313? Isn't that the article that reads: "thou shalt not think under any circumstance"? if so i'd plead guilty.

Probably that their discontinuing Xbox support, heh. And they wonder why their rehash ports don't sell....

Well I can see sony and microsoft wanting to buy up talent but i don't really see nintendo doing it unless they want to spend some cash they have laying around. I mean next gen sony and microsoft are going to want strong first party exclusives and while microsoft might have some strong computer ports they are just computer ports and while sony may have... i dunno they may have something ... they are just something . So having a capcom or a square as a first party developer would in the long run save them a ton of dough. Think of buying capcom and having mega man , all thier fighters , the resident evils and whatever else they make become your systems exclusives. What I want to see is sega being bought by nintendo though. Then i can get my fav games in one system.

Capcom of America today made a statement in an interview(cube.ign.com has it), stating Multiconsole support is important to them.
so, even if it does happen, Capcom would certainly remain multiconsole in the deal.

Capcom USA knows shit about what is going on in Japan and there's no way Nintendo would let them develop for other platforms if they were to buy them.

I still dont see a full buyout, that just seems unreasonable, Capcom isnt a small dev house like Rare , SK or Retro..its rather bigtime, If Nintendo does anything for More Capcom support, it would be like the above mentioned houses, purchasing a great deal of stock, which would get them much exclusive support, but they could still be multiplatform if they REALLY wanted to...

Yea I don't buy into these rumors , the only company I can see being bought soon is sega , jsut because you can get them for a song and a dance. While everyone may not think they are nintendo and capcom level game designers , they are one of the best in the industry.

I don't see a buy-out happening either but that doesn't rule out Capcom USA being absolutely clueless.

I'll have to agree with that. Remember back when Capcom USA said that if REmake didn't sell the number of units they had expected that the RE exclusivity deal would be retracted? ;)

Nintendo buying Capcom = no way

Nintendo buying SEGA = no way

Nintendo working closely with Capcom and SEGA on GameCube as well as the next Nintendo system = probably.
