News & Rumours: Playstation 4/ Orbis *spin*

My daughter purchased a PS4 and I have been using the following method so we all have access to all games and services with no need to be online;
The length people go through to game a system... *sigh*

Is this really a life lesson you want to teach your kid? Essentially how to cheat and get away with it? :p

I'm not quite sure how to take this, but if Sony hadn't moved the goal-posts then I wouldn't need to do the above (essentially I am replicating the PS3 environment).

FTR she subs to PS+ and we rarely play games at the same time (in fact I don't think we ever have) so it's no different to sharing a catalogue of disks. And as we do this it means she can afford to buy games she wants that I have no interest in (Bloodborne being a good example).

Thanks goonergaz. Good advice!

I actually decided to go the route of buying each game twice (although there are only a few games that she wants to play, so it's not a big deal and not that many games). The reason for me going this route isn't because my sense of morality (;)), but I kinda disliked having my PS4 set to secondary and potentially vulnerable for internet connection loss. It's not that that happens a lot, if ever, but PSN has been down a couple of times and when that happens, I don't want to feel the effect.

So I guess that was the reason for doing it "the correct" way. I'll bear the above in mind though, if I ever change my mind, so thanks!

2) I log online to the Sony store and via PC 'deactivate' her PS4

Funny. We just stumbled across this having to do this (for legit reasons).

Situation: My sisters new PS4 is not activated as primary, because when I added her account to my PS4 a year ago, I chose primary at the time.
She is now at home and desperately wants to play Fusion Trials (she loves you sebbbi!) but the internet went offline. She now can't play any games purchased with her account, because the system tells her, that she is not on a primary activated console. I got her to activate a personal hotspot using her phone so she could get online with her PS4 and activate it as her primary using her PS4. The PS4 says it can't do that, because another system is activated as primary (obviously mine). Duh.

So, I'm here thinking, ok, great, I'll just go to the sonyentertainment website, login under her PSN account and deactivate 'my PS4' system...

Doesn't work. :(

Sonyentertainment website says a system can only be deactivated through the system itself. ("Sie können Ihr PlayStation®4-System nur direkt vom System aus deaktivieren."), then listing all the steps to deactivate it on the PS4. I'd do it, if I were at home, but I'm still stuck at the office.

So, it seems, either it doesn't work in my particular region or Sony recently closed this door....

EDIT: I'm an idiot. There's a setting in another window that says "deactivate all systems" (and the notice that it only can be done every 6 months). Thanks!

Hey guys, just going to plug an indie game from Toronto here just released on PS4, 2 of my very close friends worked on the title.
One of them also got me to the indie dev scene and I made a game on his behalf a couple years back for PSN.
In any event, check it out!

So Sony has TGS, Paris and PSX. It'll be interesting to see how they spread their announcements. My guess is:

TGS:
  • More Nier 2 info
  • Gravity Rush 2 for Ps4
  • Gravity Rush remastered for Ps4
  • Bloodborne DLC announcement
Paris:
  • Quantic Dream Ps4 game reveal
  • Sucker Punch Ps4 game reveal
  • Uncharted 4 trailer with new gameplay and release date + Uncharted 4 multiplayer gameplay and MP beta date announcement
  • Gran Turismo 7 reveal
PSX:
  • GOW for Ps4 reveal
  • More Uncharted 4, story trailer and possibly a new demo (maybe co-op multiplayer)
  • VR stuff
  • Horizon extended demo (showing night, rain, stealth gameplay)

Sucker Punch and UC4 will not be in PGW it is an European event. You will see Wild and probably the new Quantic Dreams game and Rime and some Indie.

I expect the new Sony Bend and Sucker Punch to be in PSX...

GT sports or GT7 if the rumor is not true will be at PSX probably...

GT is huge in Europe, i will be surprised if it's not in Paris. Uncharted 4 also makes sense if the multiplayer beta is planned for 2015. I think PGW will be much bigger for Sony than people expect it to be, also taking into consideration the exclusive games X1 has this fall (Forza, Halo, Tomb Raider). They have to respond to that, and PGW is best suited for it.

What is Sony Bend developing? And what did they develop so far?
They've not announced what they've doing for PS4 but they're mostly known as the Syphon Filter (PS, PS2, PSP) guys and for Uncharted Golden Abyss on Vita. They also did Resistance Retribution on PSP.

I know I have a really bad habit of ranting in this topic here, but... well, ah fuck it, here it goes anyway:

Did Sony ever fix their controller? I have a launch edition PS4 and two PS4 controllers and on both, the thumb stick rubber is breaking, coming off. Maybe I'm just playing too much Fusion Trials, but I've never had any similar troubles on any previous DualShocks, not even some that lasted as long as the generation (6 years). I'm quite hesitant to buy another DualShock before knowing Sony actually addressed this and solved it. :devilish:

2nd question (no rant, but there will be if the answer turns out to be as expected ). Is there a way to change the PSN profile name? I know at some point, it was said that it's part of your "identity" and that it can not be changed. Fair enough. But now, people actually buy [digital] goods that should last and live as long as the account exists. So I am looking at an investment of $1000+ (~15 games) tied to my account. If I make a new profile, I can kiss that good-bye, not only to all my trophies, but also the money I invested and would need to re-purchase all those games (if I want to play them). Is there a way to change the profile, either through Sony, so that I can keep my investment, or is there a way to transfer my purchases from one account to another? I can't believe I must be the only person that has ever wondered about this?

1st question: Yes, i bought the Ps4 a year ago and my controller is in perfect condition

2nd question: No, and it sucks.

Sony controller hardware is a joke this gen: my sticks lose their rubber and after playing Bloodborne extensively, where you basically only use the R1 button...it starts to not work properly anymore (even costed me some boss fights!).

Meh Sony!! DS4 is the new X360 gamepad wrt quality :(
