5.1ch bluetooth headphone? isnt bluetooth still limited to 2ch?
That may be a limitation of the standard audio Bluetooth profile but I've just checked and Sony''s headset is actually virtual 7.. Perhaps Sony use a proprietary Bluetooth protocol, which necessitates the need for a driver on PS3 and PS4.

i think virtual 7 is simulating 7 speakers from stereo source to stereo speaker or multi speakers.

EDIT:
but for PS4, i think the virtual will be better because it have real surround source from game, then PS4 will matrix-encode it into bluetooth stereo with proper virtualization. Instead of simply upmix 2ch source into surround.

I thought about this but it doesn't explain why the 7.1 is only supported when connected to PS3 and PS4 and not Vita.

i re read the produc specs again. I think it was the USB Dongle that convert the 5.1 game audio into virtual 7.1.

So if you connect it to PC using analogue and enable Windows* Speaker Phantoming and Virtual Surround... or simply use games that have in-game virtual surround (i think Uncharted 3 and BF4 have it). It should works too. But it wont be specifically tuned for PS Wireless Headset 2.0 characteristics.

*its not always available on all windows PC and driver combination. Other drivers may have it with different names or different special audio CPANEL.

Ok, because this was now all fresh in my mind thanks to you guys and I wanted to do it for a while already but was waiting for a good price on a 2TB disc, I now got myself a Seagate Backup Plus portable drive, 2TB, and I just swapped it with the internal drive. It was very smooth, though youtube helped. I decided to backup everything but applications, which was 8GB and backed up at 30MB/s, which is exactly the same speed as I get on this drive copying to it from PC. It took some 6-8 minutes (less than it took me getting the 2.5" drive out of the encasing, which went pretty smooth in itself using nails and then an old plastic card) to backup, firmware has been installed, and now it's taking about half that to restore.

If the backup process would have stuck to 30MB/s for the games as well, I might well have been better off backing up and restoring those as well, because I can't download that fast, but I thought if it was going to take much longer than that, then downloading runs in the background and I can at least use the PS4 meanwhile, and I can get the games back as I need them (because for instance I hear there's an update for one of them, or I feel like getting back to it). Will queue up a bunch of my most played games and they'll trickle back onto my PS4's HDD soon enough I'm sure.

Overall pleased with how smooth it goes. Only thing they may be able to streamline a bit more is having to put the firmware on an external disc and creating that folder (PS4\UPDATE) manually, and making sure you get the full firmware not the update.

EDIT: system already back up and running with all accounts, saves and settings back (except I think my LBP Easter theme) and a long list of games and patches is queued up. ;)

No, everything. When you backup, it will backup everything (profiles, saves, gamedata), and actually only 'Applications' (Games, Apps) are optional and can be deselected.

The only exception seems to be that Trophies have to be registered online, otherwise they won't be backed up. Which is kind of annoying for kids, because kids have to be 18 before they can have an online profile. So this is a bit out of date, if you ask me.

Pfffttt... everybody knows that it's only us sad old OCD-ridden 30yo completionists who care about trophies.

Kids are too busy Instagrammin' and what not...

Did exactly the same this weekend. Seagate backup Plus Slim 2 TB was also my choice, but luckly I opened it without damaging the case (on youtube videos most guys use a screewdriver scratching and damaging the case, I did it with my fingers and nails (I grew them up for three weeks for this - just kidding ;) ).
I just backed up saves to the PSN+, and then re-installed all games and re-downloaded everything (120 Mbits connection).

It was pretty smooth. The PS4 HDD was placed in the Seagate case, reformated, and it´s now a 500 GB USB 3.0 external HDD.

Yep, also used my nails, and for the last bit a plastic card. Had no issues putting the PS4's HDD in there either, looks as good as new. :) (waited with formatting it though until I'm sure the new HDD is fine). I think I've downloaded about 300GB worth now, got most of the big games back on there.

And congrats. :) It's a very nice feeling to have that much space left.

Your PS4 boot and stand-by too fast?
You miss the time humming song while waiting those tape finishes loading back in C64 days?

slow them down and enjoy the music!*

*my hands was sweaty and palmed the disc. It full of sweat, goes inside PS4, then rest mode. It took ages to "rest" and it snores via BR Drive.
Turned it on and it still asleep while snores loudly. Eject disc and it enter the dashboard :D

One of the conditions you have to agree too before they'll sign you up:

You must keep the beta software secure and in good condition.

Huh? :-?

Don't leave it lying around for the dog to chew. Keep it away from bright light and strong smells. Hand wash only in a mild, non-bio detergent. Lock it away with the valuables when you go on holiday, or leave it with a friend to look after whilst away. Do not get wet, and above all else, do not ever feed after midnight!
