I must say, the long term implications for me are wonderful. I've been at home all day lazying around, playing GTA and watching House of Cards (from my Mac plugged to my TV). Usually I'd basically leave the PS4 on all day, pausing the game, while I do other things. Now it's off, I had lunch, watched some episodes of HoC and I've started GTA again a couple of times right where I left it.
Just wonderful. Great to save energy.

I love it on my Vita, my only issue is with kids also using the PS4 I doubt I will use it much :(

WRT my other comment, I just wondered if there might be lower states of power save (say one hour + it goes into a deeper power saving mode)

I was hoping you could remote play the Vita at 60fps but I see no option. And it's definitely not already running at that rate

You have to activate it in the Vita parameters (because this mode deactivate background DVR of PS4 while remote playing the PS4):

PS4 link app -> parameters -> video quality -> framerate -> high (or something similar in your language).

I compared MGS5 with or without, the 60fps mode definitely works as intended! So smooth and much more responsive in 60fps.

And I even suspect the 60fps mode improves the input lag of the 30fps games after my short play with FC4.

If you buy a 3 month PS Plus subscription does it auto-renew at the end of the period and bill your credit card?
You can click "cancel auto-renew" in your account settings on the PS4. Your subscription will continue until the period ends.

Vita remote play has gotten much better all-round! I didn't change anything and am too far from the PS4 to connect directly in my bedroom so it's always been through the internet for me. But the latency is much lower now. I didn't even change to 60fps yet afaik but it already felt much smoother.

the 60fps option has to be set manually?

Not sure but it seems what Onlive have used to reduce the input latency?

Wow, I just tried it now at High instead of Standard. Pretty amazing! Tried it with Super Stardust HD and it makes a big difference still.

EDIT: Zen Pinball 2 is too much for it though. Full screen movement probably way too fast. Also interesting - ZP2 and SSHD both recognise the remote play option as a 3D device.

What happens? Too many compression artefacts? Do you think the compression hardware has an encode limit and that's what's determining the 60 Hz limits?

I can understand making such a choice manual, but it'd be nice if you could manage of list of titles and choices. We had this with PS3 where some games you'd want in 720p and others 1080, but you had to manually change the console settings to force such changes.

No, the framerate can't keep up on Vita for Zen Pinball 2.

Just tried Resogun though - glorious! Pretty much perfect.

If Zen Pinball 2 recognizes it as a 3D device, maybe it outputs the game differently (twice for the 3D effect) than the usual 2D screen? then if that configuration is more demanding than the usual (like if it outputs two 1080p images instead of one) it would explain the framerate difference with the normal 2D output?

The framerate drops should then logically occur on a 3D TV with the game set to 3D. Well at least it's a reasonable theory that could explain it.
