How much were they for PS3 and 360 in the UK?

$80 games will make these consoles fail. As it is, even at $60, these consoles will struggle to reach the installed base of this generation.

£40 in the UK is the average but online is usually less than that and this is why I am quite sure that £55 is a placeholder price.

In EU the prices range from €60 to €70...which is just crazy IMO and thankfully they are not going higher than that.

UK RRPs seem to be set high to allow for 'discounting' and fairly rapid price drops. It's rather difficult to find a game being sold at it's RRP in the UK! Also monetisation on DLC is potentially more lucrative when you have a larger userbase, so scaring customers away with a £50 price tag when at £40 they'll buy and add £20-30 of DLC as well is bad practice.

Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time were insanely great games, but everything after that was kind of bad and lower production value, it feels like they booked a B-team on this franchise or significantly cut back the budget. I'm hoping it's because they focused the next big R&C AAA adventure for the PS4 ... because otherwise it could mean they're spreading too thin by going multiplatform.

Alas it's a small $29 game, but at least it looks like a real ratchet game this time :D

Since completing the Ratchet & Clank Future saga (Tools of Destruction, Quest For Booty, and A Crack in Time) we’ve had a really amazing time expanding the universe of our intergalactic heroes. From creating the first four-player co-op Ratchet & Clank experience for the whole family to enjoy with All 4 One, to returning with the first all-new R&C competitive mode in Full Frontal Assault, we’ve challenged ourselves to bring new types of play to the Ratchet series.

At the same time, we love single-player Ratchet adventures. We’ve continued to generate new ideas for weapons, gadgets, and planets. It feels like the time is right to revisit Ratchet’s personal story arc.

Damn that looks good for a PS3 game, it's a shame that they didn't move it to PS4, i can only imagine how wicked that would have looked then.

They still don't have PS4 devkits then? :devilish:

Seriously, I need to catch up on my R&C after ACIT.

It's actually kind of surprising at the number of traditional Sony studios which we know have PS4 deck it's but haven't shown off a game. Naughty Dog is auspiciously absent, along with SCE Santa Monica (I think The Order: 1886 is more Ready At Dawn's game). And Polyphony Digital probably won't have GT 6 for PS4 done for a while either (we all know its coming).

Well CD Projekt Red said they got the PS4 and Xbox One devkits "well before the consoles were officially presented".
Don't know if it's the same for every developer but DF and Kotaku as well suggest have the devkits at least since march.

I was hoping for a Naughty Dog announcement at E3. Oh well, there is still Gamescom in five weeks  and TGS mid-September, not that anybody will notice, we'll all be playing GTA V that week :D

I'm sure both Microsoft and Sony are trying to keep things back to reveal at the remaining events before launch.

Its clear sony is announcing games in the order they will be launched. You will see more games announced later on but they do not want to over shadow launch windows games.

I know for a fact GG is working on a new IP for PS4 and Naughty dog is working on something[UC4?] for PS4. SCE Santa Monica has 3 teams now? what are they working on? I bet it at least one new IP.

I saw an article the other day that said there were 100+ games in production for the first year and 40 new IP's as well. I would guess that a load of those will be Indie projects but I'm hoping that Sony gives us a clear idea at Gamecon. It would be amazing if they just piled on the games just before the launch window.

Whilst that makes sense, I don't think it's correct:
- we are expecting PS4 camera titles to appear 'at or around launch', but I'm not aware of anything being announced yet.
- similarly, the 3 SOE MMOs expected for the PS4 (DCUO/everquest next/Planetside 2) have not really featured.
- there's also a lack of 'creative/quirky' title thus far. A next-gen LBP or something similar (given the apparent success of LBP DLC this does seem a no-brainer).
- obviously, ND won't want to say anything about their PS4 work until TLoU sales have tapered off.

I think broadly they would have intended to announce titles in chronological order, but due to "circumstances" that hasn't happened.

1. I doubt they have any PS4 camera title. Core gamers do not want that and that who is lining up to buy day one. They are packing in a tech demo for the camera that looks pretty cool.
2. EQ next is not even announced yet for the ps4. Both DCUO and planetside 2 were demo and announce for PS4 before E3. Both are launch windows games.
3. Knack is the family friendly title for launch. Again you are trying to sell to te core gamer that will be there day one.
4. SCE Santa Monica is making PS4 games and hasnt announce anything. They have no game out there right now.

Its pretty clear they have announce game in the order they will ship. Unless of course something gets delayed.

Sony has a lot of big guns left. They have the biggest first party of any console maker. They have announce very little from first party.

And they still have some huge games for PS3 coming this year. PS3 has one of the strongest year of games it life in the "last year."

DCUO and planetside 2 are launch titlte games? They should preload PS2 on every system I think, being a F2P game, I think its best way to get ppl to at least try it. If people don't want it they can just uninstall.
