New Rogue Galaxy trailer

At any rate, like I said in the DQ8 thread, this is my second most anticipated game behind FFXII (and only because it is FF), though I suppose I should add Twilight Princess to that list.

Heh, I'll get my 360 next week, play Kameo... then wait for all the great PS2 RPGs :).

You have to appreciate what they're trying (or have) accomplished with this game... no loading, purported to be the largest game world ever, etc... this is gonna be a real gem.

Yeah the no loading thing is crazy (in a good way). Can you imagine flying around the galaxy with no loading?

Tell you guys the truth, I'm not that excited about this game than I probably should be. Not because I'm not anticipating the game, because I am. Just that I really don't expect this to come a shore (US) till December of next year like DQ8. Especially with the massive size and features of the game. It's games like this I wish they could do a translated text (faster, and I usually prefer the original Japanese track than the usually butcher dub anyway).

Up until recently I was not really excited about the Rogue Galaxy.
I had bought the Dark Cloud 2 long ago, and got bored of it before I could get halfway through it. I thought it was very repetitive, boring and the georama part was such a chore.
That kinda gave me the impression their next game won't be for me either.

Now that I digged it up again and actually read the manual and some game guides, I'm totally in love with it. It does start a bit slow, and I'd like the dungeons a bit shorter.
The georama is still not my favorite part of the game, so I hope it won't be in the Rogue Galaxy.

Is there more info on Rogue Galaxy? Will it have similar dungeon - georama based gameplay as DC's?

Of course there is more information! There always is :D

Rogue Galaxy wil be quite different from the Dark C* games, it should be more epic (probably in the FF sense)

There's a translation of the original trailer, look in my thread about the game here:

(also a link to some pics taken by me)

Anyway, for those that don't want to stream but download the trailer, here's the ultra-sekrit(!) link:

Oh, and NakedZ I fully agree. If they'd just translate the text and be done with it I'd be overjoyed. Not going to happen though

Simply put, there's nothing wrong with this RPG, it's a Level 5 game therefore technically it should be perfect and the gameplay should be good at minimum.

Now, there's still something I don't understand... It's the character design of what seems to be the two main characters. It's, how can I say, uninspired and almost generic.
It's strange because Max and Monica had a lot of personality in their design...

Gameplay portions look a little bit lacking.
Compared to what?
I ask because I have yet to see any other cell shaded party-based RPG ;)

Of course it would have been even prettier on PS3, but remember that it will be released soon in Japan and the average development period for projects of this size.

They should have saved this for the PS3.

Well, at the moment the PS2 has a sizable advantage over the PS3 in terms of installed base. :)

But as many people point out, the ps2 has a lot of gas left in the tank. Why wait for next gen when great gaming still exists on current platforms?

I just checked out the trailer, the giant purple guy freaks me out. Kind of reminds me of that purple CG cartoon guy, Gina Gershin does the voice of the female lead. Forget the name of it. Anyways, he freaks me out.
