New possible TV tuner for PSP

Wow this is quite exciting. But what can a TV tuner deliver to me as far as programming is concerned? Can it give me local channels or can if give me more? Check it out.

12:44 If you fancy catching the latest instalment of Big Brother or that all important footie match on the go you could be in luck. Reports suggest that Sony is about to announce a TV tuner for the PSP, and we've got an image of it right here.
You may remember that Sony originally discussed such a piece of kit way back in 2002, but this solid-looking gadget has emerged from sources in Japan. It connects to your PSP via the Memory Stick Duo port and looks surprisingly small.

Sony has not commented on whether the PSP TV tuner will indeed be getting a release any time soon, but the electronics giant has confirmed in the past that it intends to embed TV functionality in its PDAs and hendheld devices.

I wonder how far away an HDTV version is?

THAT would be sweetness indeed especially with the high quality wide screen the PSP has.


Hmm, on second thought, perhaps it wouldn't make much of a difference since the LCD's resolution isn't that high to begin with. Oh well. Would still like to compare if possible.

so the tv tuner is going to be sticking out on the side? so does that mean we can mock KK about the architect's gate comment, where in this case it is the "magic gate" placement?
