I guess they are from the 360 version with the 16:9 ratio. Older images were all in 4:3 IIRC, so this is probably the first time they show the 360 version.rounin said:So are these screenshots from the PC version of the game ?

Hardknock said:Well in your unbolded parts it states that they'll have no trouble reaching the PC version. And the comment Nesh made was about the pics in this thread(which are from the 360 version) so I don't understand what the problem is.
Slow down man, did I infer they'd have a trouble to make it look roughly equivalent to the PC version? I just pointed out the contrast between what Nesh felt by these 360 screenshots and what 1up felt by the 360 version, that's all, no evaluation of image quality or whatsoever of those screenshots for myself.Hardknock said:Well in your unbolded parts it states that they'll have no trouble reaching the PC version. one said:If I have only one thing to note about this preview article, it's that they are playing catch-up to the PC version for a UE3 game. Frame City and Gears of War have no PC version so there was nothing to measure how far the UE3 is optimized to Xbox 360.
There are still plenty of questioned unanswered about Huxley -- both to the public as well as internally at Webzen (many of our questions for the developers were answered with "we haven't decided yet"). But with the PC version scheduled for release at the end of this year and the 360 version on the way roughly six months after that, there's plenty of time for the game design to come together as well as the technology already appears to have. "We are launching the games separately because they will each feature unique content," says Kang. "Having separate release dates allows us to give each game the attention that it deserves, thus making them both high-quality and really fun."
That article means nothing, because the Xbox 360 version has the exclusive single-player parts.Hardknock said:I don't think it's so much the UE3 engine playing catch up, but rather the game started first on the PC and they just recently started the 360 version. From the article:

Do you mean the 360 version? And why do you think so?scooby_dooby said:And you would expect otherwise when the PC version is coming out 6 months earlier?
Oh, so you meant the PC version is more complete just because it's released earlier and the Xbox 360 version has been left unoptimized because all guys are working on the PC version? As I replied to Hardknock in the post above I associated why they release the Xbox 360 version later with the single-player campaign exclusive to Xbox and because they seem to rely on XNA and UE3 as the article expletive quoted suggests the porting work should not bother them much.scooby_dooby said:"the PC version scheduled for release at the end of this year and the 360 version on the way roughly six months after that"

1up Preview said:"Not really. Epic has already shown that it can be done with Gears of War. We also have the technology to make the transition from PC to Xbox 360 a smooth one."

But as I don't know how much graphics work is handled by the Unreal Engine 3 and how much by user code, I'd like to hear someone familiar with those engines. Besides I'm not sure where Hardknock got the idea that "the game started first on the PC and they just recently started the 360 version" so I welcome clarification for that too.
What I'm not sure is "they just recently started the 360 version" this "just recently started" part. They can use familiar PC environment for their prototyping, but the part you quoted doesn't suggest how long they have been cooking up the Xbox 360 version actually. In the old interview A176 providedexpletive said:Based on the bolded section, id say its a fairly safe assumption.
they took it for granted that they have the Xbox 360 (then Xbox 2) version. In the 1up preview they test network interoperability. Anyway back to my original point, I was not talking about this particular game, but UE3. Frame City was delayed, Gears of War was delayed, it's not clear how it's going now.Microsoft has mentioned many times that an XNA-compatible next generation game could allow PC and Xbox gamers to play each other without the risk of cheating thanks to the use of a common online service: Xbox Live.
Do you plan to release Huxley on PC too (UE3 is XNA compatible)? If so, would you allow Xbox 2 and PC gamers to play in a common environment?
Kijong Kang: We are developing a PC version of Huxley. We are also considering the possibility of allowing Xbox 2 and PC gamers to play together. We’re not sure if cross-platform play will work without any problem yet. Nevertheless, we trust Microsoft’s XNA.
