it was 30 fps since the beginning

I'm almost afraid to ask....but.....does it take advantage of the scaler chip, I have a 1080i/480p TV.

I have noticed that some Sony published European/Japan Developed games (after launch) stay at 720p.....like Motorstorm/F1/Hotshots

I believe Europe and Japan have regulations as far as HDTVs supporting 720p.....so I can understand how it is not a big deal for some overseas......and this game has been in development for a while, so I don't think that it could be implemented that easy........just wishful thinking.....

ps..... I love beautiful scenery and so far from the pictures and video clips......I can tell there will be numerous occasions where I will stop and just stare and enjoy the view......

I think there was a hint from one of our friends from the developer team, the question is (i guess) if they had/have the time needed to implement it..

Heh, if the PS3 acutally had a scaler chip they wouldn't need time to implement it, but as it stands having to run 960x1080 to get 1080 line output could be quite a headache to get working well on in game that was designed to render at 1280x720.

Here's what I've figured from eyes-on impressions from various websites wich have got invited.. :)

  • This game won't be as gory as God of War, since the developers are aiming for 16 year age limit, but there probably be blood. :)
  • It's been described as a mix between God of War and Ninty Nine Nights... :)
  • It's linear gameplay, wich focuses very much on the story. *i like*
  • If you use a really bad-ass fighting style you get extra style-points.
  • The longer you delay to use your attacks the more effectfull they get..

I also believe that you cannot level up your weapons like in GoW.. And I'm not sure if Nariko levels either.. :-/

It's better that way. A lot of people were impressed by God of War's first level, but I hated it because Kratos could do literally nothing. Now that you can do everything with a given weapon to begin with means that you can do marvellous things to begin with. Of course there is higher learning curve involved, it shouldn't be as high as in Ninja Gaiden (there was leveling though) and most of my friends could handle that.

You acquire new moves throughout the game, based on the amount of style points you've obtained.

So far I ve YET to hear anything dissapointing about this game and I hope it stays that way :D

90% done, September release, multiplayer after launch?

From an upcoming interview with Tameem Antoniades, possibly from Gamers Day (?)

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=76451

There's no multiplayer mode in Heavenly Sword as our focus was always to create an intense personal experience; it would have been too damn complex to deal with that as well," Antoniades told Eurogamer. "We did, however, develop the combat system using multiplayer test levels, as it's a great way of soak testing and balancing it."

"So who knows? Maybe we will decide to go down that route sometime soon. And when we do, it won't just be slapped-on to please marketing tick-boxes. You can be assured that we have our sights on multiplayer."

The game is due in September according to the article, with Antoniades reckoning that they're 90% done.
