There is one reason I believe this is a realtime shot (other than the claim it is): The *game* was seen in motion at E3 with the same visuals. Concept art and targets are different than the final product, or game assets running on the actual game engine with underpowered/under-featured dev kits and/or final HW.

Btw, that is one nice normal map I am sooo glad they went with 512MB of memory... and I am sure it is using 3Dc. That is a significant leap over current gen games where few use 256MB of space and nearly none employ 3Dc for the normals.

Definately not CGI quality (I thought the video of the explosions was lame), but overall if this is the best next gen offers I will be happy. If it gives more great, but to me this is a huge leap from current gen and the possibilities with different art style are amazing. PS3 and Xbox 360 here we come!

My fav shot is page 52 . Its two monsters (human size) right up next to the main char and he has his arm out keepig one at bay ready to shoot it and the other is right behind it come after him. Looks sweet

Ok let me spell it out for you s-l-o-w-l-y. There were certain people on the net that alway say like you "don't expect too much, don't expect too much." I'm going to listen and watch what the actual developers and execs say about their own systems. And there might be a better engine out there that shows better graphics with the same or better frame rates, so I expected next-gen gaming to look like this.

I just sick of hearing people saying that this is not possible and that is not possible. Lets what and see. Until then lets take everyone at their word and beleive that these wonderful developers can give us what they are showing.

Sorry I'm not going to buy into prerenders. Alot developers ideas of what looks the same is different than mine. The image quality of a prerender hardly ever matches that of realtime sim so I'll wait until I see real-time images before I compliment anything.

ALright cut it out guys . Talk about gears of war here not your own personal spats . This is real time and the engine has already been shown and playable (Behind closed doors ) at e3 . We know this game is real so there is no reason for epic to lie about the graphics when we've been seeing this quality out of this engine for a year now

Whatever... some of us have more realistic expectations then others. it's a simple as that.

Though it must be great in motion, seeing it still, I notice flatness of some places such as the monster's shoulder where those chains are like a tattooed picture and odd material of a cloth on the guy's head.
