At least Australia seems to be a couple of notches above Africa when it comes to release priorities, perhaps someone can comfort themselves with that.

Will next gen consoles actually(officially) be released in Africa

Yes, many African/Arabic/Asian countries, plus Australia and NZ fall under the PAL region, so when costs drop I am sure they will be released in Africa as well.

For example, Sony has only released PS2 in Iran a while ago (with around 10,000 PS2's shipped to Iran each month).

But if they say 'Europe', it's just Europe.
