MS Says Xbox 360 Launch 'On Track'
Company says rumours of console's delay in Japan are bullshi...er, bogus.
One of Microsoft's main goals for the next-generation Xbox is to get the console out to gamers as soon as possible. The company has come out to rubbish rumours that the release of Xbox 360 has been delayed in Japan and confirmed that all three major regions will see the console's release before the year is out.
"We announced at E3 that Xbox 360 would be launching in North America, Europe and Japan during Christmas 2005 and we remain on track for launch in these territories," Microsoft's Marie-Claire Suter told Kikizo.
Earlier reports had suggested that Microsoft would hold back the console's launch until next year in Japan, which would bring it in direct competition with PlayStation 3.
Xbox 360 is expected to launch first in the US in early November, before the all-important Thanksgiving holiday, and the console will hit both Europe and Japan soon after that.
