nooooo I was hoping that Appaloosa would be good. Where would you rate 3:10 to Yuma? to get an idea of taste.

The Strangers - 3/10 Absolute piece of shit movie, with protagonists so insultingly stupid I was rooting for the killers by the halfway mark (if not sooner).
Burn After Reading - 6.5/10 Meandering Cohen fare, with an amusing performance by Pitt.
After the sudden and unexplained disappearance of my movie reviews thread, I thought it only appropriate to make a new one until the old one resurfaces or to completely replace it. Same rules as before, what was the last movie you saw and how would you rate it?
So the rumour is true., but I'll settle for a flogging.
Yea, I think the Academy has this tendency to get too much behind a particular film and shower it with Oscars. I was pulling for Curious Case myself, though I knew it was going to lose all the major awards to Slumdog. Glad to see Heath won, had Hoffman won it that would've been twice he was undeservedly awarded over Ledger (I like Hoffman, he's a good actor, but Ledger's performance in Brokeback was historic whereas Hoffman's Capote is already forgotten and I highly doubt much discussed amongst film critics).
Not sure I liked the circle-jerk of actors giving away the major awards. And they kept certain people on stage for too long (Daniel Craigs, Will smith, etc.).
I think they were afraid Rourke would give an acceptance speech as rambling and laced with profanity as the one he gave at the independent film awards.
He caused quite a few bleeps at the BAFTAs as well.I think they were afraid Rourke would give an acceptance speech as rambling and laced with profanity as the one he gave at the independent film awards.
