I sure hope it isn't. You don't limit a game such as this with Kinect. I wouldn't mind a combo of the two with the controller as the primary input device, however.

Just looking at some of the official screens for Ryse and Dead Rising 3 on Gamersyde and... there a little less than impressive, and certainly not very next-gen! When watching the games on the stream is was hard for me to determine the graphics quality, but honestly they don't look very good, and certainly not worthy of a $499 next-gen game console.

They look like mediocre Xbox 360 games rendered at 1080p with low AA, terrible textures and low geometry.

Do you know what textures and geometry are, and have you ever seen an Xbox 360 game?

Click on the fourth Ryse shot, where he is jumping with the spear. You don't think it could be a 360 shot? Bad foliage, lots of fog, low res textures, aliasing, etc. God of War 3 looks better. Maybe it is just showing its 360 roots.

That's not fog. That's smoke and haze from the fires of the burning city. If you watched the conference live stream you could see it drifting across a relatively clear sky that stretches off into the distance.

The first screenshot there even shows you some of that distance in addition to linger smoke from the burning buildings.

As well the X360 could only dream of textures that good.

Its free for new game purchases, its still required. Used purchasers had to pay a fee to get a pass.

Yes but that was online passes,and xbox 360 games also had it on top of xbox live,which was kind of a double dip,but few games did it.

He said it was "absolutely specced to Xbox One hardware" or something like that.

Then he threw in some more stuff about we're all on dev kits no final hardware, it was on next gen (different from Xb1 specs specifically, I note) specs, but absolutely what you saw is what you'll get or something...

It's PR at best, same as every other PR dude who says "it absolutely looks better/like that". What else would you expect from PR?

Umm, yes it WILL look like way. Dont forget going from 512MB to 5GB RAM alone makes a HUGE difference in looks.

Anyways you're forgetting the concept of baseline, if you TARGET a game at a 7770 in a closed box, and run it at 30 FPS, absolutely no doubt it can look like that, because think of what PS360 did with GPU's that wouldn't even be a joke on PC's today, even compared to 7770. So you're basically saying "yeah, dont expect much improvement from 5-10X more powerful GPU guys!"

And besides all that I can dig up benchies, but a 7770 CAN run BF3 at 30 FPS I'm sure at maxed or near. Hell my HD 4890 can, and HD7770 is better in modern games.

I mean I guess BF3 too be fair isn't BF4, but still, you also have that PC's are unoptimized as shit.

In this case it looks like it's running it at 45 FPS with no AA (consoles will have FXAA or something, so closer to this).

That's high not ultra, but my 4890 can run mostly all ultra @1080P at around 30 ish FPS so I'm sure 7770 can or better.

And that's besides that of everything shown today BF4 didn't even stand out to me. Other stuff like Titanfall looked as good imo.

IMO the clip we were discussing was the one shown at MS conference which was single player anyway. That's what my comment regarded.

And the Jag cores may be small and all, but there's 8 of them too.

It gets back to optimization I'd say.

And the back key is a real thing on a Xbox controller btw. right across from start.

i agree it was probably running on pc to next gen specs (though EA specifically tweeted it was running on XB1). i disagree it wont look that good in the end.

They announced that at their conference today, actually. I believe it was Halo 3 and one other.

Assassin's Creed II & Halo 3 starting July 1. Fable III today only. But it's only for 360 Gold subscribers & only until the XB1 launch.

That's what I keep hearing, but the official press release doesn't say that. I got it late last night myself.

And yes, Spark was really cool. Kinda reminded me of Kodu, but more detailed & more fun.
