A MGS4 trailer at TGS 2005 ( 16-18 september ) was announced today by konami.
And knowing that hideo kojima and his team ( and kazunori yamuchi and his team, and yu susuki and the team created shenmue ) are the best in using effictively 100% of any hardware they choose to develop their games on it. ( MGS1, MGS2, MGS3, GT1, 2, 3, 4, SHENMUE...)
But the challenge this time is very difficult for kojima and his team, its to use the maximum power of PS3 !!!
They are experienced in using 1 ppe and 2 VU processors, but how about one ppe and 7 SPE ?!!
they are experienced in doing software vertex and pixel shading by the emotion engine, but what about :
normal mapping ? displacement mapping ? 64 bit HDR ? High order Surfaces ? scattering ?per pixel shadowing ? per pixel self shadowing ?...
could kojima and his team implement in their new engine all those effects in only 6 months of developng on a ps3 development kit ?
How snake would look like after using millions of polygons, and all the new techniques ?
will we achieve finally the reality ? or we have to wait GT5 to see this ?
I really dont know, but what I know for sure is that I will be shocked positively or negatively...
I cant wait to see the new trailer ( after killzone, ion storm, fight night, the getaway, how I could be impressed another time ? )
But I have confidence in kojima...
especially after MGS2 2000 trailer...NO ONE was better...No one...
