Matrix Revolution!

sounds right considering he gave a few million back to the movies to get some effects done .

Lets see 3 movies , toys , video games , board games and posters . Then dvds .... I can see 200 million if he has a few points in the movie

jesus.... we're soooooooooo in the wrong business.........

If they can pay keanu 200 million then Im not so sure we can call matrix 3 a flop... It is a hit internationally and I think itll top out around 400-500 million at worldwide BO. Then theres dvd sales... Its no LOTR but its gotta be the most successful anime like sci fi franchise ever.

I wonde how much it cost to make matrix 3?

I read/heard somewhere that its done so poorly Warner are considering rushing the DVD out before X-Mas. Evidently there is a fear that the only way that this particular part will get much in the way of DVD sales even is if it is part of a boxed set.

Yes i've been hearing the same thing . I still think its a stupid idea. They can at least hit the 200 million mark but if news gets out that the dvd will be out before x mass everyone will just wait and rent it .

This saga should have stayed just one movie like it was meant to be .

Yeap, 213 Million world wide in five days is what was on the news. How could this be a flop? DVD before Christmass -- COOL :p. If the numbers are rapidily going down at the Theator then while it is still luke warm, put it on DVD, I am sure many who havn't had a chance to see it will buy it. Get some Trilogy packages going (all three movies), selling again the previous Matrix movies while promoting the game with a $10 coupon, or $20 rebate or something.

Easily a flop when you consider that the 3 lord of the rings movies cost about 400million to make. The first two have made over 600million in the usa . With the second two matrix movies costing 300 million and so far only making 400 million in the states .

I don't understand your logic, it is not just showing in the USA but Worldwide. Plus wasn't Matrix 2 & 3 made together? Meaning that you have to take into account both movie makings world wide before you call it a flop? I doubt very much that the Matrix Trilogy is a flop in the money department. Technical aspects of the Matrix is also pretty impressive, while storyline and acting is a different department (which I tought was good). Now when is it coming out on DVD so that I can buy???

It certainly not a "flop", but some people referred to it as the best trilogy/movie ever made or something (which is  ), and it's not showing in sales basically. compared to true works of art that deservedly took much more at the box office, like LOTR...

Economically it is far from a Flop, since it will cover the costs of making the movie and also make a lot of profit...

"Hype-illy" it is a BIG FAT flop.

'The Matrix Revolutions took a huge drop in the international marketplace and made it tough for it to cross $300m Warner Brothers estimates that Revolutions grossed $20.5m over the weekend, which brings its total to $229.7m. Despite substantial drops in the U.K., France, Germany, Spain, and Italy, Japan recorded a superb 21% fall. Thanks to a $4.396m weekend in Japan the third installment of The Matrix Revolutions has a $35.872m total and should cross $50m by the end of its run.

However, in the European markets Revolutions dropped over 50% in most markets. In the U.K. the film grossed $1.949m, down 55% for an estimated cume of $26.182m. The film dropped 50% in France on a $2.04m weekend for a $21.532m total. Revolutions was even worse in Germany (down 57%) and Italy (off 67%) generating totals of $14.562m and $11.134m respectively. In Spain the movie fell 51% on a $1.153m weekend for a $11.397m total.

The signs do not look good for The Matrix Revolutions crossing $500m worldwide, which before its release seemed like a sure thing. Three markets stand out in Russia, Japan, and China, but everywhere else Revolutions has been very much below expectations.'

The usa is the biggest market . If it fails to do well here it wont make it up in other countrys . Its only at a 125 million here. It barely made 200 million world wide with the usa added to that total. That is very bad news. Its 300 million off its mark. This weekend it made less than 7 million. Next weekend it will drop even more . Its starting to die. At this point reloaded made over a 100 million more than this movie did so far into release . The third of a trilogy is supposed to make the most .

500 million expectation?? How many movies make that? How much will DVD sells make and then rights to show on Cable and then the networks. The makings (moola) of the Matrix Trilogy is far from over. Anyways I thought the trilogy was kick ass and well worth my money and time. Each their own I might add ;).

Revolutions when counting dvd sales and network broadcasts is a billion dollar movie when all is said and done by end of next year... Its not a flop but only at worse a dissapointement to some studio execs hoping to make as much as they did with the other 2.

With rumors abouding for animatrix 2 on the big screen I dont think Warner has killed the series in the slightest yet... Way too early to see the franchise as doa...

It was 500 million. The number will be greatly reduced. The matrix rev is at a 125 million as of the close of sunday night. (this is domestic ) It cost 150 million to make plus 30 million advertising in the usa. so its not close to making the 180 million spent on it in the states. I don't have numbers for advertising in international box office but it should be at least half of what they spend here . Right now its just cracking 230million world wide. Now reload is disapointing in terms of dvd sales. This is going to do horrible compared to it. It will make money yes. But it wont make as much as they wanted or expected it to . Which makes it a flop This movie should have done 500 million world wide easy . Now they are saying 340 million world wide. Thats a huge diffrence .

Just to give you an idea with only gothica and cat in the hat opening this week it only made 7 million . Wensday we have haunted mansion and 2 other movies and friday we have yet another movie. Then we move to the last sumari . So this movie will def be a flop. Esp when compared to the last two matrix movies and it will look like a turd compared to the new star wars movies where even though they have sucked have made more than these .

It made 4.7 million this week . So right now its sitting at 133 million usa just to give you an idea elf has made 129 million so far in less time and will pass it up this week .
