major differences between NV4X and G7X?

Now it is, TheInq will have it tomorrow :p

Just curious, because it has implications for the "real" transistor count difference between G70 and G71. This would suggests it's even more than we think it is (tho, no, I'm not suggesting these extra 8 units are all that big).

Hardware.fr, in their 7900 review, mentioned that the number of blending units has increased from 8 to 16.

EDIT: Hexus.net, too, made mention of a change to their ROP units.

And Dave noted it with the 7600's single texture alpha blend test. It's all but official.

Or maybe NV mean what they say: "An advanced texture unit incorporates new hardware algorithms and better caching to speed filtering and blending operations." Note "advanced" and singular "unit." It'd explain the FEAR AA+AF boost, too, no? Assuming it's G71-exclusive, though that doesn't seem to be the case with their "twice as many floating point operations." (Talk about keeping their powder dry.)
