MAG

The first few matches I played after the patch had very strange issues, like spawning alone without my squad, ghost players , I got knifed by an invisible man...later on it was fine though.
Also after I got the medal for 1000 MG kills, I respecd to AR. I thought that I might regret it but I like it so far. I was expecting to have bigger problems and the kills are more satisfying.
After the AR I will probably go Electronics/Commando with the MP and/or shotty.

I had disconnects before this patch, but after it, the disconnect from the server when playing got worse. I doubt its all at my end, since it usually happens to more people in our group than just me.

About the stats, I have no clue, as long as I get my xp I am fine, but I guess when you get disconnected you lose the xp accumulated in that match.

If you want to help Zipper solve the disconnection issues.

If you experience a disconnect error, please post the as much of the following information as possible to help us track down these remaining issues.

- specific day/time(s), including timezone*
- the error code you received
- account name (if different from the one you post with)
- what you were doing directly before the disconnect

- What kind of connection are you using? (cable, dsl, satellite)
- Have you opened the ports on your router? (List of ports here.)
- What is your nat type? (XMB->Settings->Network Settings->Settings and Connection Status List)

What happened ? Other than 2-3 second teleportation about 3 times so far, I have not encountered any issue at all.

I got killed in Valor Sabotage near the end of the game. So the respawn counter starts counting down, but when it reached 0, I didn't respawn. I was left at respawn screen, watching the plane approach and dropping paratroopers without being able to join them. After a while I did respawn though.

I also saw some teleportation going on, and players sliding across the ground in other games. And the whole party got disconnected with the 5:5 connection error. Reading back over what the patch was supposed to fix, it's like the whole thing didn't happen.

I encountered 5:5 once, the night before (i.e., right after the 1.0.1a patch). After that, the game has been stable. Then again, it never did cause me any problem since launch except for the brief teleportation issue. Haven't seen any teleportation yet after the patch though.

I am on my way to longer health (About halfway there I think).

@ All MAGnificent SVER player.
Please add nOoblet16 to your friendlist. :p

Srsly... you should join Valor or Raven, well may be after you level up enough in SVER. You will get bored there due to easy win.

Only reason I joined SVER was cause majority of the guys in my friend list playing MAG are in SVER.
Otherwise I'd have joined Valor.

I see some people switching from SVER because they think it's too easy to win. :)

I joined a GAF game for the first time yesterday. Was in the SVER Acquisition map. I totally didn't know what's going on. Simply shot at whatever my teammates were shooting. ^_^

It's my highest points so far (close to 300). The game is definitely more fun and rewarding if you play in groups.

EDIT:
USA Today article: http://www.usatoday.com/tech/columnist/marcsaltzman/2010-02-04-mag_N.htm

All in all, though, military shooter fans who prefer multiplayer matches over computer-controlled opponents should find MAG an ambitious but successful game that's easy to pick up but tough to put down.

One thing I must say when I played the Acquisition map (I think) is that it felt epic ! The artillery, turrets, and other supporting fire made the whole place really feel like a warzone. KZ2's MP has 1-2 clusters of intense fight, but in MAG it's spread everywhere you go. The Sabotage map is more quiet in comparison.

Acquisition is the best mode IMO. It has everything, and makes the best use of the maps.

We just played SVER Acquisition three times in a row. Read, we just kicked their asses three times in a row.:devilish:

Yeah but in Sabotage, I get to dominate :p (sometimes !).

I played SVER Sabo last night as a sniper with Claymore. I helped the team capture objective A several times by killing/terrorizing everyone near the staircase. The opposition seems newbie-ish since they didn't have any sniper at the top of building A to cap me.

The people they sent after me were killed by my Claymores. After 2 consecutive explosions, I'd switch my attention to the staircase behind me to pick more attempts to flank me. Then it's back to the front again.

Team still lost unfortunately. We didn't manage to hold both objectives long enough to overlap. It's great fun though.

In Acquisition I need to spend some time studying whats going on.
I get shot at from everywhere, makes me feel timid to move.

Will follow my GAF teammates more to see what tricks they have on that map.

Meaty MAG interview from GameTrailers:

Watched it in and out of work. Rather accurate description of the game.
8.2/10.

Yo nightshade, how did you find the game ?

Didn't expect to bump into you in MAG tonight. ^_^

I managed to win the Valor Sabo map for the first time. The chemical grenade is very handy in clearing out objective rooms. Their Sabo base is indoor, which means rather easy to defend. However they are also susceptible to poison (No where to run).

I saw you playing a match against SVER, figured I should jump in; though never really expected to see you right in front ha !

This game has consumed me, lvl 16 now became a squad leader for a round & didn't knew what to do lol...if I mark an area then do my squad members get frago points if they do anything in that area or is it only for objectives ?

I just saved up 5 skillpoints for the lock-on RPG. It takes a 1000cc to carry compared to the regular 400cc RPG. Forcing me to wear the lightest armour. But it's worth all that, it's an excellent piece of equipment. The first game I used it there was another guy who had it, and together with the bunker turrets we were able to quickly destroy any approaching APC. Throughout the whole game they never managed to put a charge on the gate.

Mark an area? Do you mean the waypoint? If so, that is only to highlight the direction players should take to the next objective. No frago points for that. Or do you mean frago an objective. In that case you get frago points for everything you do near it. Destroying it, repairing it, killing or reviving, ect.

So what's the use of waypoints other than telling your squadmates to go there ?
If there is no benefit for that then what encourages my squadmates to follow me ?

Nothing really. I agree that they should add a frago bonus to that aswell. Staying near an objective isn't always the best way to defend it. And all just sitting there is just asking for a grenade to be thrown on you.
