I'm one of the rich hobbits and have a plasma screen.

The PS2 does indeed look gorgeous when outputting a PAL Progressive signal.

There are some anomalies. The Getaway actually outputs a NTSC RGB signal when in progressive mode in the PAL version of the game. It doesn't actuallly work very well on the PAL version, there are a number of artefacts that appear on the screen that aren't present in the interlaced version.

The only other titles I have tested are Primal and Tekken 4.

Of course I have a different issue. If I want to have my PS2 and DVD both outputting a progressive signal I need two sets of component inputs on my Plasma. Alas this is not the case. I need to invest in some sort of component switch solution.

I've had it since Oct 2001, it is a Panasonic 42PWD4B. It cost a lot.

You should be able to pick up it's replacement the 42PWD5B for about £2500, now.

I don't think prices are going to drop much below this. If you have a way to avoid the VAT, they seem a bit more resonable.

Have you seen the new Blaze VGA device. It unlocks the Progressive feature on games that don't even have it in the code.

I've got one on order, I'll let you know how it performs.

I hate to be pedantic. But doesn't the xbox support progressive-scan games? I thought Dragon Lair was 720P or something...
But what do I know, perhaps those things aren't related.

only the american and japanese Xbox and Gamecube support Progressive scan.

In Europe the ONLY console to support progressive scan is PS2... go figure.... :?

well there's always the dreamcast but who cares

Dragon's Lair 3D supports 1080i on Xbox

But there are more 720p Xbox games than there are 480p PS2 games
