I'd have been very surprised if Sony had let this opportunity go. Imagine what they could do with this guy in a team that's given the same importance as Naughty Dog. Scary.

from the way he talks with "err/eto" sounds like he does know japanese alhough not very fluent.

i guess in the first 80% of the video he talks more fluent because there's a telepromter he reads in front of camera? then on the last 20% of the video, house-san go face 2 face with kojima-san, and BAM! he talks with lots of err/etto.

If given the same freedoms as Media Molecule and TeamICO and PD, don't expect any product release until mid PS5.

Is Shinkawa still at Konami or left with Kojima?

    EDIT
Never mind I googled and he is with Kojima.
Good news to me anyway.

More like Kojima's tendency to initially target one platform and port at later dates. There aren't many Kojima games that have been simultaneously released on multiple platforms.

Let's be honest... Sony more than likely has stipulations/clauses in place dealing with sequels and/or other future titles from Kojima Productions. It makes sense for Sony to gauge how successful (or not) KP is with their first PS4/PC title - without going into a full blown costly partnership with a brand-new studio. And if KP is successful with their first title, then they'll have more than enough leverage when it comes to future IPs or even long-term partnerships.

Sony's control revolves around owning the IP. I doubt there is much commitment beyond that as both Kojima or Sony will probably want to use the first title as a feeling out process and to help determine if each other will make viable partners.

Militaires Sans Frontières. Well the skull is oriented in a similar fashion anyway...

All this time Hideo Kojima was creating his own Outer Heaven . Venom Hideo was very convincing

Yup. Sony's preference for owning the IP is what drove Insomniac to Microsoft for Sunset Overdrive. IP is generally a safe bet because even if a game bomb there are no real liabilities and you can always reboot.

I wonder what engine they will use as I assume they can't use the Fox engine.

They'll use the original ps1 MGS engine for that extra vintage feel.

    Wait...
This doesn't look like the logo of a company making Knack 2.

    You gave me false hopes!

I believe it is owned by Kojima.
I hope it is because there is lots of potential

He probably could get away with making a MGS game, if Konami sued him under cross examination the defense could 'prove' it wasn't the same story - nobody and I mean nobody can keep that story straight/coherent.

On a serious note I am looking forward to seeing him do something different.
