Just Got my 360 - first impressions *swoon*

I just picked up my 360 premium system.

Holy Great Graphics batman!!

I am playing Kameo and it is beyond stunning. The Xenos/C1 chip that ATi designed is just lights out awesome. The Color Quality is pure ATi, which has always been superior to Nvidia imo. This is like playing some kind of state of the art tech demo. Every single surface is environmental mapped, shaded, has awesome depth and detail. The CPU is obviously awesome as well, there are some screens with hundreds upon hundreds of trolls fighting on screen at the same time. The Frame rate is rock solid.

The thing that just keeps blowing me away though is how perfectly the unified shader core works. I have never, ever seen so many detail shaders, and general shader effects going off simultaneously, with volumetric lighting and particle effects, and HDR. I cant even imagine what the R600 is going to be like.

This is running on my new Samsung 26" HDTV at 1920x1080I High res HD.

They have anisotropic filtering running for the first time on a console on top of everything else. Its flat out stunning. I am nearly speechless.

I have also played, King Kong and Perfect dark Zero.

Kameo though, is just staggering in graphical splendor.

Personally, from playing @ a medicore screen res of 1280*1024, I can't say I've been totally "blown away" by either PGR3* of DoA4 so far. Impressed maybe, equally impressed as with any PC game to date (perhaps because I'm using the same monitor, duh). I suppose the answer for the most part is to invest in a new £1,000 monitor...

What would Xenos have to do with the color vibrancy and such? Isn't the chip actually responsible for doing the outputting some chip by MS?

No, the frame is complete once its sent out for display.

wish i could get one without having to buy 6 games i dont want with it, not to mention the added cost that brings.

You'd think some of these marketing idiots at places like EB, GS, BB, would allow you at least to make your own package with games you want rather then stuffing an added $250-$300 of games/accesories i would never play or buy ontop of the console price

all i wanna do is trash my old Xbox and get a premium with Condemned and Kameo (if i really had to get Kameo). I dont want 2 faceplates and extra controller and 4 PC ports too, nor do i care about sports or racing titles ):

sry for ranting but i've been waiting since november for one of these places to yank their heads out of their asses. Grats on purchase, i will own one eventually, when one of these places decides they want my money.

These "mini reviews" are a bit silly anyway, unless there is nothing new and interesting presented in the "mini review of xbox360 and Kameo" why post such.... I mean who's interested?? when there's so many better reviews around.

Of which i have right at 10 PSP games, and a couple movies. I bought and have been playing Shadow of Collosus, DBZ Tenkaichi, and Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King for the last 3 months on PS2. I played and beat GUN on Xbox over Christmas.

I just got this Xbox 360 and This specific game Blew me away. I have been into hardware and graphics "stuff" seriously for going on 8 years now. I know what i am looking at, and in a general sense what it takes to pull something like what you see in Kameo off hardware wise.

Its Off the hook impressive.

Well, Hellbinder is happy about his purchase and vocal about it, nothing wrong here.
Whereas anyone is impressed by the X360 is personnal, I certainly am not much impressed, but yet I find the graphics to be good, even though the gameplay of the games I tried varied from under-average to average.

PD0 looks plastic all along, which is very annoying, and the gameplay is under average.
Kameo looks good, and is fun to begin with, but too repetitive for me after rouhgly 3 hours of game time.
PGR3 looked nice, nothing mind blowing, didn't like the gameplay, but I've never been into car racing games, but Rally games.
Condemned is way too dark, to the point I didn't play more than around an hour... (The fact that I just finished F.E.A.R. might have something to do with what I think of Condemned)
COD2... well I did finish it on the PC, I couldn't manage to do some manoeuvres because of the pad settings (not like any other pad would help, but maybe the Revolution's), so I was rather annoyed more than anything else... [Playing multiplayer]
DOA4, environnements looks good, more interactive, but I've never been a fan of the franchise.

And that's about all the games I played, a friend of mine have a Premium Pack, with more games, and also playing XBox games on it, he doesn't have PC, which IMO is very relevant, because most people I know with good(mid/high-end PCs) aren't that interested or impressed with the XBox360...

I think a good guideline to follow, when posting and thinking about putting it in a new thread is to think whether it is something people can reply other than basically simply "I agree" or "I disagree"

Rent it before you buy it, unless you're a fan of the series, it's a love it or hate it game from what I've seen. (I'm not sure Digi's wife would appreciate the female character's breasts uncontrollably flying around from the slightest of movements...)

Im pretty sure Kameo doesn't have AF. Its one of the first things I noticed when I started playing. Gorgeous game but a big let down on the texture filtering IMO.

Mayge you should buy a good HDTV/Monitor cause Kameo has atleast 16x AF.
Never seen so good AF not even on my X1800XT.

Thats why I couldn't believe some of the Kameo reviews. On GFX alone this game is a 7/10. The GFX are simply stunning, the game could stink and this game would still deserver an easy 7/10 just cause it's so drool-worthy.

When you pair those GFX with good gameplay, and what is a really fun action adventure game with really fun characters to use, and tons of really cool areas to explore and things do do, how this game gets anything less than 8.5 is beyond me...

And the people who gave it like 6.5? What..the..hell. If this is 6.5, Kong is a 3, and GUN is a 2. Many of the Kameo reviews are totally bogus. This is a great franchise that deserves alot more recognition than it's getting, ah well can't wait till Kameo 2.
