The cartoon is all lies and bullshit from what I've heard. In reality, the male 'lead character' (whatsisname) was a pedophile who more or less abducted her when she was a girl, and pochahontas herself died of syphilis or something like that. Or so I think I read anyway around when the movie was released, it was quite a while ago so I could be more or less wrong here. I'm too lazy to hit up wikipedia, heh.
