Is Pixeljunk Monsters 'region free'?

Don't think I was calling you or anyone else in particular a trophy cheater, Deep! I just mean all these games that avoid adding trophies retrospectively seem to be avoiding the option because it's unsecure, and people could use someone else's savegame to get themselves trophies, and does that really matter? As you say, what's the point in getting them without the challenge? There's no prize or anything. All anyone would get in that respect, buying them in, is 'bragging rights'.

So why not add trophies to PJM that scans your success so far and says 'yes, you've got this, this and that trophies. Try and get these other ones too'? Personally I think trophy support should recognise past efforts when retroactively applied, to record achievements made before the trophy system was rolled out.

But this was something written a week ago. My comment above was just that I saw you were on PJM, obviously earning trophies, which is why I said you weren't wasting any time.

Shifty. Retroactive trophies are bad because you can share saves. That is bad. No getting around it.

If you don't care about trophies, why do you care if they are added retroactively? Seems contradictory. If you don't want them, don't get them. Plus, this is only temporary - only those devs kind enough to add trophies to old games have the retroactive problem. I've personally enjoyed going to back and revisting these games and TRYING to get the tropies. What's the point of being given them when you didn't know you were trying to get them?

I just tried to get a few PJM trophies. Challenges seemed fun :0 But one said I could only use bombs to kill the boss? All I see is Cannons, Mines and Mortars. Which is the "bomb"?

Bombs are gained after completing one of the special stages, and can be activated by pressing the "square" button.

I with you, btw. Trophys should not be retroactive, because it effectively kills their value as an accomplishment. If eveyrone on my friends list now has 100% in that game becuase they used the game save, there is no motivation for me, personally, to go through the whole hooplah of getting those trophies.

When I see everyone else at 25%, and I've got 100%, that's an extremely satisfying feeling.

It means mines.

Had to do that one twice as I had a stage full of cannons, first one hit the trophy indicator said "no"

I understand this POV, but it's only a problem if your friends are going to find saves to boost their trophy achievements artificially, instead of comparing themselves to you on their own merits. The downside is, if I've completed a game 100% perfectly, that ought to be recognised as an achievement, no? And yet it isn't. What would be so bad about having, say, Civilization Revolution get trophy support and me receiving a dozen trophies recording all the ways I've already achieved stuff in that game, which otherwise goes ignored? Why should Patsu not get a trohpy score because the games he plays and gets good at don't have trophies, and no-one wants ot add them retroactively to shpw his achievements? The only reason not to is to stop cheaters, as you say, from upping their trophy count without doing the 'work', but the only people who'll cheat this way are people taking the trophy thing too seriously. It's a nice friendly competition thing, but nothing worth cheating over (not that anything should be...). If, say, Patsu was to suddenly get 100% on three games, that wouldn't bother me as I'd just ignore him as a cheater. I wouldn't get upset over him having a bigger score than me when I know it's not deserved.

Unless there's reason to think trophy cheating would be mainstream and totally break the trophy scores, I think the lack of recognising past achievements is a greater loss. But this is all a bit moot if future games all come with trophies as it'll only apply to a few retro titles. And personaly I don't much care about the scores. The achievements as targets to pursue are good.

If you don't care about getting trophys, then why care if they aren't added retroactively? I really don't understand the point of your complaint. If you don't care, then why do you care?

Well for my own bragging rights wouldn't be against retoractive trophies to games already played, but then it's no skin off my nose if they're not. however some people do care, making it a point of discussion - should those wanting retroactively applied trophies miss out because of those who might cheat? - and we all discuss stuff that has no real baring on us, no?

Edit : I'll add that the challenges are fun, and not too hard, at least the first few. The last couple are just perfect scores of original levels though, the 4-tree-only one for starters. I'd prefer having these recognised retroactively than have to do them again! It took a lot of goes to learn the right tower combo for the 4-trees level, and I can only hope I remember it!
