iPlayer gets company on PS3

I just noticed that along with iPlayer I now have access to 4OD and ITV Player (ITV1,2,3).

We now have access to the chav world portal that promotes brain melt like the X factor etc!

It's interesting that our PS3 has now become the defacto box through which we watch TV - on demand services and PlayTV. We order\download\stream movies from either Mubi, LoveFilm, or the Sony Video Store. It is the main source of streamed music and video. Of an evening we watch DVDs or Blu-rays.

Sometimes we even play games on it...

I've also noticed that it seems to use my facebook account more than I do!!

If this is the beginning of a true media convergence I'm quite happy with it. If only we could skip the adverts...

It's not quite convergence yet…. at this point it's more like media collection/consolidation (Everything online goes to Internet). On the client side, Sony needs to do more to truly unify the experience.

Ahh. Didn't see that. It would be cool if you could access the XMB like a pop-up menu on a Blu-ray and actually do stuff.

I've had one 'Out of Memory' error with the ITV player so far.
