Dave Orton, speaking to the INQ at a partner conference in Jerez, Spain, obviously wasn't counting Intel, but talking about third party chipset firms.

However, thats fairly definitive statements about their intent in the chipset market.
 
Ahh, I did miss that Intel ref. :oops:

But, yes, the interesting part is both graphics IHVs are getting increasingly assertive about their "ownership" of the chipsets market going forward.

Nvidia was smart using SLI to push chipsets.
