If you really want me to...
Honestly, I'm not surprised about COD3. For example, when people compare fight night 3 ps3 to fight night 360, they point to the extra development time (which for the most part is true). Same thing here really. COD2 was on the 360 a year ago, and COD3 is a continuation of the engine on the platform so theres no reason it shouldnt be more optimized.
I think its safe to say resistance is the big title that overshadows every other title so I see no problem with the "Resistance is it for the Playstaion 3" comment. Though it seems the quote is out of context. In the discussion he makes it sound like it's
the title, but
not the
only title, but the largest title by far. Though something out of context is something to expect from gaf or oa, so no surprise there.
As for the "(PS3) may not have a very strong line up...but you can go back and play a great majority of the PS1 and PS2 games.." comment.. isnt that the case with all launches, usually very lackluster compared to the year(s) ahead of it. I see this as a positive, I can enjoy my new ps3 games, and enjoy my old+new ps2 games without some iffy backwards compatibility emulation (sorry Microsoft). The ps2 is far from dead so thats a very good thing for ps3 owners.
Matt Cassamassina is a laughable character from what I can see on the show, seems like a very pro-Wii guy who doesnt change his mind much. Didnt seem he wanted to mention that the PS3 version of marvel is planning to pick up the framerate, which seemed to be his only grudge against the game.
At this stage of development the Wii and 360 versions held a steadier framerate than what was being shown on the PS3, but they are a bit farther along. The Wii and 360 versions were playing off of their test kits while the PS3 was still running on a development kit. Also with the PS3 version running in 1080p it was pushing the engine a bit harder. By release we were told to expect each version to be running at a stable framerate.
Kinda OT but I'm wondering about his 7-9 million Wii's comment, if nintendo can get that many out @ launch...then wow.
As for the show as a whole, it would be better if it were longer to take it even more seriously. A 10 minute roundtable discussion is hardly enough time to get into the beef of things. I prefer the 1up show/yours much more.
Seems like the thread is focused on the negatives, there were some positives as well. But I guess that doesnt matter much on GAF/OA. Quotes of flamebait if you ask me.
but yeah, hope I covered all the bases.
