If 2nd gen Dpad = Fighters & 2nd gen twin analog = FPS ,what will 2nd gen 6DoF = ?

Hopefully Leadbetter can get an interview for DF and enquire about this.

I'm surprised that Dr Richard Marks & Anton Mikhailov haven't done any demos to show off the sensors but right now I think Sony is busy being the people's champ to associate it's self with motion controls. The more vocal crowd will complain at the mere sight of motion controls so Sony isn't making it their business to show off the tech at the moment. I think as the price come down into the range of the casual market we will see Sony pointing out the fact that the PS4 controller is a more advanced motion controller than the Wiimote.

Aren't those 2 busy with Morpheus?

Everyone with a PS4 has a pretty good DS4 demo in Playroom.

Eye Tracking looks good, but it's at desktop distances like other implementations. Not really console friendly in that configuration.

Just because the demo was shown at desktop distance doesn't mean that the tech will be limited to desktop distances. The easy way to get around distance limitations is to just use smart zoom & focus on just the face cropping out everything else. say you have a 1920 x 1080 sensor you can use face tracking and only focus on 640 x 360 pixels giving you a clear 6X zoom that's just focused on your face for eye tracking.

You're right, it doesn't, but it'd be wrong to assume it will work at greater distances. There's a reason why every eye tracking tech to date has the user sitting close to the screen. If Sony have cracked (accurate) distant eye tracking, that'd be great, but I won't believe it until it's announced/shown, or at least rumoured.

If Sony is planing to use Eye Tracking chances are they will be adding a IR senor to the mix. if so the 2 cameras that's already in the PS4 camera can be used for head tracking while the 3rd IR camera can focus on eye tracking.
