I fixed my car!

Hey, I've had this car 3 years now and it was old when I got it. I knew when I got it I'd have to fix the brakes, (which I did and they're still doing great), all the other stuff has been a "surprise".

This was a surprise, but it's all better now.

Tomorrow I'm gonna play with my steering...fixing things is fun! :D

Brakes are quite easy to deal with so it isn't really pushing your luck IMO. Letting a shop do it is more pushing your luck.

Thank you Sxotty, I agree. At least I know mine were done right. :)

Fixed the power steering today. Cost me $3.99 and it runs like gangbusters.

I like to do all my repairs, but I only have a cobblestone driveway and no garage so it limits me to some extent. I wanted to replace my own clutch, but the transmission jacks would have got hung up on the stones in the driveway so I paid a shop to do that. I hope it gets warm and dry so I can replace my stuts and springs before winter, but that may not happen given the fun weather we have been having.

Transmission and suspension work is a bit beyond me, I don't have the proper tools. :(

Got a driveway and a garage to work in now though, a huge improvement over doing the brakes on my front lawn. (The jacks kept sinking into the grass.... )
