How do you play a Gamecube with the lid open?

ROFL re: that picture!

Remind me to never let you fix a thing! ;)
HEY!

I wasn't going for appearance, I was interested in functionality....I'll duct tape it up later.

It works, I'm happy and the kids are ecstatic.

It does sort of looked like the puppies opened up the Gamecube for me, doesn't it. I was in a hurry and didn't think it would work.

Digi, after that horrible post-op picture, PLEASE, do humanity a favor and don't become a plastic surgeon... :D That was the ugliest hack I've seen in a long while heh. A blowtorch would have made a more elegant cut into that case... :)

I couldn't find mine after a rather extensive 5 minute search so I grabbed the nearest tool at hand that looked like it could give me access.

Like I said earlier, it worked and it works. I'm a happy guy. :)

OMG - that fix is hilarious!

I think thats the first time I've given Digi rep!

(And please, when you do tape it up, just don't tape up all the vents!)

am i mistaken in thinking that you can take apart the entire shell with a screw driver and about 5 minutes of time?

VICTORY IS MINE!!!!

Sorry it's blurry, but my son kept joggling my elbow trying to get me to hurry up and give it back to him since I fixed it.

Thanks again Hupfinsgack, that was just the ticket I needed. I couldn't reach the wires to splice them with my fat fingers, I couldn't get the unit opened up because I couldn't find my star drivers, so I just used my channel locks to chew open that corner of the case until I could reach me pudgy fingers in there and stick a little jumper into the connector that I stole off an old piece of scrap hardware.

My kids are very grateful, and I also. Thank you again. :)

My God, thats the most original hack i have ever seen in my whole life :D

With a little help from my son, some Elmer's glue, and a bit of heavy cellophane off the top of a strudel box we successfully closed up the modified Gamecube.

Another happy customer:
