How come Xbox 2 leaks so much more than PS3 or GC 2?

I'm sure we'll see some leaks on PS3 that comes from development houses and not sony itself. But those dev houses need to get the information first.

For the technical specs of a Sony's console, rather than by a leak, I think it'll be revealed on papers submit to academic events like ISSCC if it follows PS2 and PSP. The next week 2005 ISSCC Advance Program will be available, BTW. If it doesn't contain anything about Cell, then the other event like Hot Chips.

I don't think they are leaking information that the general public simply wouldn't understand, as that wouldn't achieve a thing.

I wasn't talking about Xbox 2 specifically but M$ is simply much more forthcoming as far as sharing details with the media is concerned. Of course a lot of the info is given off the record but when you provide the same info to a huge number of different outlets it's going to leak eventually. And they're expecting it to.

I think that is more of an opinion than actual fact. There's a reason why developers have an NDA regarding specifics on xbox 2, that being MS doesn't want people to know those details. I don't think they are leaking information that the general public simply wouldn't understand, as that wouldn't achieve a thing.

I've been hearing rumblings that MS have indeed been leaking info, but most of it is fake in order to deter Sony and Nintendo from knowing exactly what they're up to. This is one of the reasons I'm having a hard time believing the Xenon Block Diagram and the leaked memo from Peter Isensee.

Well, even after the supposed CES unveiling, if it doesn't contain some concrete numbers, it's subject to change to some modest degree. But whether those info are intentionally modified by MS or not, the features in the final product can be changed later just like Longhorn without WFS regardless of what MS plans initially, so I guess other competitors don't care so much and have multiple backup plans as it's THE way of business.
