It is very hard to find realtime shots, using google images.
...
However, all pre-rendered Halo3 artwork seems to have excellent HDR applied.
assen did a great job showing me the HDR in the Halo3 pr-shots. Could he, or somebody else find a realtime, ingame screenshot that also has it? I gave up after 5 minutes

Err... a few seconds on youtube resulted in many hits:

Here's one that shows many examples (albeit the light sources are mostly player placed objects like those glowing grenades and glowing force fields, etc.):

Just pause the video to examine a still if you need to see it without motion.

Actually, nowadays 'bullshot' means in-engine but with oversampling and/or different resolution. It's easy to do this with some scripting or hardcoded tool without any modification to the engine. As far as I see, it's pretty common and accepted in the community.
An exception is Doom3's ability to jitter light sources to create soft/area shadows; while still a case of oversampling, it has more effect on the general look than a simple image quality upgrade. Maybe Epic can do something similar with UE3 as well...?

Something completely different then in-engine (offline CG, or CG using ingame assets) does not really have a name, but I'd simply call it fake.
