Halo: Reach

Hell yeah I remember that. After killing what seemed like every enemy in the game, that damned door at the end of the bridge opened and here comes the meanest bastard so far! It was then I learned how useful a needler could be.

Assault on the Control Room is my absolute favorite video game level of all time.

My first encounter with the gold sword wielding Elite was a terrifying and surprising moment to say the least..We had this back and forth battle with each of us taking potshots at one another but luckily, I stuck him with a plasma nade and he fell off the bridge all way to the ground..I felt that was one of the greatest moments in videogame history.

Halo CE's campaign on legendary is simply amazing as I've had plenty of WOW moments in that campaign..I still play it from time to time and the campaign never gets old for me as im still impressed with the AI and how Bungie created an incredibly engaging and intense atmosphere..The music certainly added to it by creating an ascending dramatic flair to the warfare...

Thursday. And I hope they show campaign footage.

What I want to know is about the med pack situation. Are there going to be armor permutations that repair themselves over time? Are we going to have to hunt for med packs after a close fight like in Halo 1? I mean, Halo 1 was fun but that was nearly a decade ago and the last two online Halo games didn't have med packs so there's going to be a bit of a relearning curve for that.

I hope they go with pure med packs again and won't have any sort of health regen.

I like the tense situations that can develope where you know it would only take one more shot to take you down and then still managing to survive with a bit of luck and skill.

I'm seriously getting tired of playing games with... Shoot and fight. Hide for a few seconds 100% health. Shoot and fight. Hide for a few second 100% health...rinse and repeat. Ugh...

Regards,
SB

well you still have that half shields/half armor system that was in Halo 1 but the shields recharge more slowly. I guess one benefit of going back to the old system is that players can't do a plasma pistol noob combo on you. Hopefully we actually see the game in action soon.

In Halo 2 mp, many of the non-skilled noobs used the BR and Plasma Pistol combo to get cheap kills..My favorite thing to do was to use that combo against those noobs and it totally pissed them off...

What happened to being dark and gritty?

From the 1st person screen:

Also it looks like they ditched the elevation indicators on the motion tracker (a good thing)

And they've gone back to being able to carry 4 frag and plasma grenads like Halo 1 and 2, rather than the 2 of each type in H3.

You can also clearly see the AR reticule is expanded due to recoil, which is something no previous game in the series has shown

I think it looks amazing. Maybe the best looking game this gen.

But I see anywhere there are Halo shots, naysayers come in...I expect the Vidoc footage to look great, and the naysayers still will not admit it.

Who said dark and gritty?

Anyways, if you cant see a major darker and grittier difference to Halo 3, you need glasses.

This is darker and grittier in the Halo framework, and it's handled great imo.

The story is where the dark is.
Practically every single person on that planet is going to die by the game's end, probably with all of Noble team. There aren't many games that are darker than this. Some of the Silent Hill titles and probably a few other horror type games... but a mainstream FPS game with such a depressing ending that you know in advance?

Wish they would release some pics showing some of the large scale battles. Is looking quite average so far to me.

Are those shots 1080p 0xAA?
