Halo 2 sells ___ million first day

Helo 2 sells ___ million first day

Danm, they sold a game called Helo 2, surfing on the Halo 2 popularity!

;)

I'm kidding about that but that's exactly what Disney interactive did with Tron 2 Killer App, released the 9th nov, behold Mister Chief:

More seriously, Halo 2 is also selling very well in Europe, BTW.

Uh, prolly Halo 2. :)

Amazing numbers. Too bad the Xbox doesn't have the raw user-base to challenge games like GTA3/VC/SA or SMB3 for the all-time no.1 selling console title.

Yeah, it's too bad. If there were even 30 million xbox users, Microsoft might actually get returns on their multi-billion dollar losses from xbox.

;)

Hmm i'm curious some sites say 75 million dollars others 100 million and this one is 125 million dollars, which is it :?:

I've playing online a lot, and I'm finally getting used to the online matchmaker interface. It's very annoying how slow it is to get into a game, but the concept is cool though. Xbox Live matches up the people best latency with each other and groups them into a game. The big problem is after you play a match you have to start the entire process over again which really sucks. There is no way to restart the map. It has been taking anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes for LIVE to group the players together. The wait is just way too long. I'm guessing their is some massive database that sorts through all the players online.

What they need to do is something like Blizzards battle.net where you choose a server to connect through. Bungie needs a North West, South West, North Central, South Central, North East, and South East servers to choose from.

My gamertag is Shockwave Ryder if anyone want to invite into a clan or add me to a friends list.

If we agree the sales figure as stated in the articule, then:

2.38Mil x $50 = $119 Mil

Impressive for the 1st 24 hours nevertheless.

Halo 2 also was sold in a Limited Edition version, which contributed a little more per copy to the revenue.

Even if it is 125 million, that's very disappointing I think. There was a guy here who posted and said MS would make a billion the first day!!!!

.....yes, I'm always moved to tears by these orchestrated marketing hype events... they really bring the mankind together

Please.

You don't honestly believe that?

Halo 2 is specific to being only XBox (console) and later to PC unlike the GTA series since SA will also be on XBox later on...

Halo Combat Evolved on XBox has become a sort of N64 GoldenEye 007 in the sense that the game continually sold and sold since being introduced in 2001 all the way to 2004 mostly by word of mouth hype of game players who after playing CO-OP, System Link and XBoxConnect matches and mostly non-FPS players getting converted into the Halo sect.

Obviously Halo 2 is riding the hype being generated mostly by word of mouth by game players who played Halo CE on XBox and some who played Halo PC.

If you realize that then it is very possible that since Halo 2 was made to use XBox Live the number of sales can very much catch up and possibly exceed the " the all-time no.1 selling console title" even without the Halo 2 PC version being released.

BTW The X-mas shopping season has not really started yet and having sold over a million copies in one day already I wonder how many copies of halo 2 can sell by November 30, 2004

Where did you get those numbers from, Chap?
If Halo2 sold less than 3 million and made 125M, how did games that sold 20M copies or so only make 250M-300M??

With similar userbase, it is entirely possible for Halo challenge GTA and SMB. The first 24hr sales of Halo already thumped most, if not all launch sales in NA. Whats there not to believe?

1)Mario64, sales of $308 million since September 1996
2)GTA Vice City, sales of $284 million since October of 2002
8)Halo, sales of $149 milliion since November 2001
?)Halo2, sales of $125 million since 24hr ago

Considering Xbox userbase, Halo is number 8 in the list, Halo2 still have legs to run the distance.

Dont be a hater, i suggest everyone buy Halo soon! Lets get together and enjoy arguably, the most comprehensive console gaming experience yet!

If there was any demand for Halo outside of the tiny xbox gamer crowd, console consumers would be buying masses of cheap xboxes to play it. And yet the xbox languishes in last place in worldwide sales.

Maybe... Sound a bit much though... That would mean that a game like GTAVC sold many of its million copies while costing less than $10. Which it still doesnt...

HAH, well it was me that said a stupid figure of halo 2 making 3 billion in revenue! I pulled the number out my ass and posted it, for the sheer hell of it. Not even sure why really.

But I must admit, it really irritated the hell out of London-Boy. I didnt mean it to though, its just how he re-acted. :)

heres the conversation, just for fun !! I find it amusing !

Drop the attitude and next time don't pull numbers out of you a$$.
They'd have to sell 75million copies to reach 3billon revenue. Never gonna happen, especially in the first week.

wouldnt be surprised if globally in the first week, they gross 3billion dollars plus...

Gosh, yes you are right "london-boy", i am very sorry. i do hope you can accept my most sincerest apology.

nevermind hey, its not the end of the world if i just picked a number out of the air for the sheer hell of it.... fortunately we all still have good health and worce things can happen. my advice to you, would be to take a few deep breaths and try to move on... dont dwell on things and youll feel better in no time.
