well, not here, cause you cant post scans here, but must say, looking dandy fine !

you play as Tony Cipriani
- game takes place in 1998
- several returning characters from GTAIII
- you can run mp3s off the memory stick
- packages, jumps, and rampages are in all new locations
- Rockstar may or may not allow you to use flying vehicles because of the limitations of the hardware

shame on you, man! you can't name a thread 'pics' and not put in a single bloody actual image inside! :devilish:

good to know those things, though ;)

So it's not just the original GTA ported to the PSP? That's what I thought it was....you telling me it's more a GTAIII/VC style game?!??

Yes, it's a game that take places in Liberty City, with new missions and all.

Finally mp3 support on a handheld....does PSP have the power? I think it may have an extra processor for it, won't that kill battery life?
Also, I'd imagine limitations of the hardware could be the controls, or that they're trying to avoid streaming and aircraft travel faster and easier than ground based vehicles, but they put them in the PC versions and keyboard controls that are just trying to emulate a ps2 controller's functions are probably far worse than what they could come up with for psp. Certainly there were flying games on consoles before the dual shock or dual analog sticks.

One of the big draws of the GTA series is the soundtrack. So what would be the point of letting you play your own MP3s? Maybe streaming the soundtrack from the UMD is discouraged because of the power drain?

So no flying machines because of hardware limitations? That's kind of strange. Does that also mean cars can't go airborne for jumps too? :D

Now the thing that would be more interesting is if they used the wireless mode somehow, either for some basic multiplayer mode like capture the flag or maybe even co-op.

Always thought being able to jack cars controlled by other human players would be more thrilling than doing so against the AI.

When I got my PSP the other day, GTA game boxes were on the shelves. Picked one up thinking it was released, to be told by the EB dude that it wasn't out yet, but would be out soon.

The guy that seen the game said that once you see it in person it looks f**king amazing. I can' wait now. WHY ME??

Yeah I have a friend in the press who saw it running, told me it's basically the same as GTA3 on PS2. Can't wait! Actually just forced the guys at the office bring me a PSP when they go to the States in a week or so :)

But basically for all I care, it could look like crap and I'd still buy it. Personally I love Rockstar for their storylines and the amount of fun the games are to play. After finishing all this-gen GTAs, I think maybe two or three missions TOTAL gave me gray hair. Everything else was a blast. Not that I'm saying the games don't have their flaws, I just can't be arsed to worry about them :)

Did you guys see those screens that Rockstar denied were from the game?

They showed ad hoc and infrastructure multiplayer modes, with team-based games and so on.

Lets hope they're working on something like that. If not for the PSP, then for the console and all future versions.

MORE INFO!!!! GTA:LCS on the PSP will be great.

The latest issue of Spanish gaming magazine called “Play2Maniaâ€￾ released the following info about Rockstar’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto: Liberty Stories. Due to ship in September, this is sure to be a hit for PSP.

Confirmed information:

- There will not be any air type vehicles as previously rumored. Sorry, no helicopters or airplanes.
- You control your player, Toni (voiced by Michael Madsen); using the PSP's analog stick.
- The camera can be changed via the "Select" button.
- You have a choice of wardrobe!
- The game has "better graphics" than GTA3.
- There will be new landmarks in Liberty City this time around.
- There will be R3 missions.
- All of the cars from the original GTA3 will be in GTA LCS as well as the bikes from Vice City.
- The draw distance will be very good (which we already knew from the OPS2M UK article).
- Cars will have better reflections in GTA LCS than they did in San Andreas.
- The storyline will be "as long as Vice City's".
- There will be unique jumps and hidden packages in the game.

and

* The PSP engine has been worked on for two and a half years already, so it only took Rockstar three weeks to get LCS running on the PSP. With the technical hurdle out of the way, Rockstar quickly got to work on making LCS grow.

* Aside from quicker missions and shorter cut-scenes, essentially everything else will remain the same due to not having many restrictions on the PSP. Rockstar wants LCS to feel like you are playing in just another side of the GTA universe, instead of "I'm playing the crappy portable GTA."

* Rockstar is putting forth as much effort for the portable GTA as they did with GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas. The high production value with attention to detail, soundtracks, voice recordings, etc. will not change on the PSP.

* The world is roughly halfway between GTA3 and Vice City; it's longer than GTA3 and shorter than Vice City.

* They've found a way to get as much out of the battery for this streaming-intensive game as they can, and so far, they're quite impressed and content with what they've been able to do

WOW

I will be buying these as soon as available and stealing my son's PSP for a week! :D

/me fervently hopes the GTA games don't have stealth updates on them!
