bitmaped backdrops can't follow a such hirez rendering.you shouldn't notice a so violent disparity between modeled foreground and bitmaped background in the game ,at TV resolution.

Damn, the crowd looks amazing! Still some cardboard people, but I think it wouold be to much to ask for dozens of real 3D peoples.

I find it actually quite amusing how those cardboard people run over the track (seen in the replay at the end of the movie). So cute!

Sony this morning announced an interesting little event to tie in with the upcoming Gran Turismo 4. The only catch is, in order to take part in the GT4 awards you will have to be a car designer.

WHO: Automobile industry's best cars, most accomplished designers, famed Gran Turismo creator, Kazunori Yamauchi and auto industry representatives.

WHAT: To honor automotive excellence and celebrate car culture, Sony Computer Entertainment America, publisher of the best-selling Gran Turismo racing franchise for PlayStation 2, will host the first-ever Gran Turismo 4 (GT4) Awards at the SEMA(Specialty Equipment Market Association) auto show in Las Vegas. The Gran Turismo 4 Awards is aimed at all automobile entries from the SEMA auto show to vie for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to win the honor of having their vehicle incorporated into GT4, the highly anticipated new release from the Gran Turismo franchise.
