Grand Theft Auto VI [GTA 6]: What can we expect?

Captured on PS5, interesting on original or Pro? And why not on XSX?
Not clear whether its pro or not. I think the PS5 is the primary console for development for a myriad of reasons. XSX is only marginally more powerful. So if you can get it to run on the PS5 you can get it to run on the Series X.

Those graphics running on a PS5? It doesn't even look like a current gen game with the amount of ray tracing while keeping that image quality. Insane.
RDR2 was the best of graphics for last gen. This looks like an appreciable upgrade from RDR2, but it looks in line with other very good looking current generation title to me. 30fps allows for the consoles to push the graphical envelope much further which is providing that extra leap in fidelity. Still we need to separate cutscenes from gameplay, the latter of which I don't think we've seen yet just given the camera direction.

The game looks too good to believe the trailer is running on a base PS5 in real time.
The quality surpasses other games that arent even open world in detail and lighting. Today I was looking at the game's trailer without knowing it was GTA6 and for a moment I thought it was a movie. Then realised its CG. Then I assumed it was a CG movie. Then I noticed that it maybe isnt. Its actually from a game. And finally I noticed it was GTA6.
I am not convinced it will look that good until I see the final game with my own eyes

Vice City, USA.
Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them.
But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida, forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.

Yeah its will possibly be slightly less graphically impressive. But there's a scene where the male protagonist(James Duval) is moving from the balcony into the house. I think that is representative of the gameplay graphics, and its honestly insane. Now imagine what it will look like on an RTX 5090 some time in 2027. I think its definitely going to look better than RDR2. And that was already quite good.

let's imagine how good RDR3 will look.
Its even going to look better with all the lessons learned from GTA 6 and all the improvements done on new editions. RDR3 is going to be something else graphically. But that will be on the 10th gen. I just dont see how they could release it anytime this gen with all the support they need to give GTA 6. Maybe in 2027 at the earliest?

It is certainly hard to imagine this level of visual polish across a game world that is supposedly larger than GTA V running on a console.
Just looking at what they had in the leaks which were pre-Alpha, then I think this game is actually going to blow people's minds in terms of the graphical fidelity. Its been a long time and they have had time, money and human resources to optimize the game more than other smaller studios have for their games. I can see them pulling it off for that simple fact. A lot of developers have to balance between the available resources and extra optimizations. This additional delay to May 2026 is proof they have gotten more than enough time. As well you can see Rockstar isnt pushing out a PC title day and date. They want to release their titles with as little bugs as possible across all platforms. My only concern would be if the story and missions lack the creativity of past games. If there is a feeling of a repetitive gameplay loop going from mission to mission then that is going to suck. But graphically I think they're going to knock it out of the park.

For me more than graphics that for sure are really good more impressive is level of density of assets, never seen before in open world game. Every scene is full of little details. This plus top tier animation and final result is realy amazing.
