*God Of War 3 Thread v2.0 + Interview Stig Asmussen

I can't play this game for more than an hour continuously, my eyes are bleeding! Playing this for an hour gives me the same eye fatigue I get at the end of 6-hour Bad Company 2 sessions. There is so much going on and graphics are sometimes so busy.

It's got the best lighting and shadowing by a mile, and while the MLAA look great on Kratos and other near objects, I've noticed some jaggy crawling on objects mid-to-far distance like square rocks hanging from chains, etc.

Also, I can't be the only one noticing the Homage to Demon's Souls in the Hades level.

Hades level is kind of dull until you fight Hades. That boss fight is really cool. The tug-o-war part is inventive.

What do you mean here ?

I know 3D Dot Heroes stole a Demon's Souls line. What does GoW3 do ?

I was being flippant. I seriously don't like the way he looks, but I was making a joke of it.

I also don't think Kratos is a looker, but I think the developers have done a great job modelling his body.

You find and read notes from lost souls on the ground. They don't really add anything to the game, you don't even need to read them, but I found it similar to notes you find on the ground in Demons Souls.

It's just a standard action/adventure trait really, though it's the first time the series uses it.

Got the game along with one another game called Final Fantasy 13 :) , the first level is just too epic. But I do however have one big problem...its Kratos' voice acting, I think its horrible.
"what chu gonna do Fathar"
^ That's one of the reasons. [Still I laughed a lot when he said that  ]

Other than that the graphics are amazing ! its extremely neat [2nd lvl is meh though !], the MLAA is awesome, the water looks VERY good but strangely it has no ripples or effects lol and Hooray for true Volumetric lighting & God Rays !!!! :devilish:

For one, it's soft and seems to carry the same weight as a human voice, yet she's probably several hundred feet tall, made of rock, and weighing several thousand tons.

To be fair, Gaia is the personification of Earth in greek mythology--also know as Mother Nature. The voice totally and completely makes sense to me. I love it and it's voiced very well my the actor. :)

Oh-My-God!! Truly, it is stunning!!
I never played GOW 1-2, as I'm not that big a fan of hack-and-slash type games, but bought GOW3 mainly for the graphics.
And I'm glad I did!!!
If you were put off by the demo, it looked nothing like the final game. Such an improvement.
Still not the greatest fan of game type in general, but if you're gonna play one hack and slash game this year, make sure it's GOW3... actually, if you're going to play one game this year, make sure it's GOW3.
Can't believe we're seeing graphics like this in a game. Compared to what has come before, it sometimes feels like it's running on a next gen machine.

I agree eventhough I consider Uncharted 2 & Killzone 2 technically better looking games with overall more consistency in visuals, I HAVE to agree that some scenes in GOW3 are just borderline CG looking.

It goes to another level with any given closeups... it's one seriously gorgeous game.

I've finished it once and I'll be back and en route for a platinum. It's very well balanced, more so than GOWII.

I started on Titan mode straight away....my friend challenged me & I accepted.
Sort of regret it as Boss fights are ultra hard in Titan mode :p ....they just keep on taking damage forever while I die from just a handful of attacks. I have played games like Ninja Gaiden on Master Ninja & DMC on Hell & Hell quite effectively yet this is something which is taking a lot of time from me.

But then, everything else is quite easy and the sense of accomplishment is good anyways.

Well, the worst voice in the game is Kratos. I just think Kratos all-around sucks, in every possible way. He looks stupid, he acts stupid, the voice actor isn't great, and his voice is stupid.

The guy has a goatee, tribal tattoos and doesn't wear pants. He's also roided like a freak. Basically if you combine an mma fighter, a hippy and He-Man, you end up with Kratos.
... I think this is the way Kratos should be. A mindless barbarian with an attitude

The other day I was telling my friend that Kratos is the Hulk with a bigger vocabulary. They write him that way, and the VO directors seem to want that in his voice. It's growls and roars, but no "inside voice" because he doesn't really hold lengthy conversations.
