Just thought I'd point this out. This is running unoptimized on Xbox360 using the Unreal3.0 engine, which the PS3 ALSO has no problem running. MEANING that this could be done on both the PS3 and Xbox360, which means that the ****** whining is kinda pointless. This isn't representative of EITHER console's best abilities. BOTH WILL have better looking games than this, so just ONCE everyone just HUSH. I know, who am I, right? But, seriously, every once and a while just call it a day and move on, huh?

Halalujha brother if people would get this through their heads things would be alot friendlier around gaming community. If I could or knew how to give you stats or whatever I'd be there.

That's assuming RSX is up to the task. We just don't know enough about PS3's graphic capabilities at this time to make any sort of judgement call on how well it will perform in comparison to C1.

was it mentioned that UE 3.0 do not have Xenos tiling support? no small feat Cliffy came up with such quality. to some, this the best of next gen yet .

I do believe the story went that Xenos Tiling is one of the primary graphical architectures that MS recommends - and is essential to part of XNA development. Because XNA was really no where near complete when development on UE3 began, Gears of War may not do tiling - I use the word may because it has also been speculated that they may try to alter the engine itself to support the feature as the title itself is still months away from launch (and in especially in console development terms, thats quite a long ways away).

XNA's suposed to be crossplatform, so to expect a tiling GPU architecture is kinda...dumb! XNA games will still need to run on older PC cards.

Nesh, I was going to defend your post, since when i watched the video one small snippet of video jumped out as being just bad. Then I came across this post of yours in another thread:

I take this to mean that you are commenting on this video in this thread without actually having viewed the video? This is a bit disingenuous, to say the least.

.Sis
Nah I wasnt commenting to the video but to the pics only from the site that had the video.I didnt say it as a fact nor I believe that was a real indication of GOW's real quality.Thats why I posted since that was the only thing I could view so someone who has viewed the video or knew more could clarify and inform me.

Check my post again.I was refering to the pics from the site. And I also asked if the pics I posted were from the same work in process as the otehr ones so someone can tell me more about it

Ok, I haven't read through the thread (which I think I'll end up regreting) but is anyone getting a weird slowdown when the video goes to the three guys? Its like a slowmo (video) but the audio is going at regular speed. Reason why its weird is because I can play 720p video fine..this is the only one thats given me issues.

Video plays perfectly smoth for me, start to finish, not sure what all the slowdown people are complaining about, or framerate issues.

I'm runnin an A64 3200+ w/ 1GB ram, and using "BS Player" for playback, works perfect....

I've got an A64 3000+ w/ 2GB ram (Generic). I'm not OC'ing it...i'll try doing that and see what happens. If I can get it up to 3200+ base speeds...then it "Should" play fine. I'm also using PureVideo from Nvidia (with my 6600GT)....fricken Nvidia.

I'm also going to try Media Player Classic.

I know what you're talking about and it's the game not the video... unless it's REALLY slow... anyway I've been watching it a lot and there definately seems to be some high LOD going on in that scene, so I think it might be dropping a few frames as LOD kicks in.

If you're wondering why I think there's high LOD watch the guy's hat. Notice how in that scene it has a winter hat kind of texture, yet in game it doesn't really seem to have much of any.

Actually, you know it could just be the background scenery loading into scene rather than LOD. Probably one of those.

By the way, we FINALLY see hair in the UE3.0!!! No one celebrated! ;)

Classic helps to, I find BSPLayer gives the best results though...

In my PC the video runs fine, except I can't rewind or forward it.
The video runs smooth, but the animation and framerate in the gameplay parts is still a little choppy, constant but choppy.
For example the blood splash animation looks just awful with way too few frames of animation.
The cutscenes do seem to have improved compared to previous vids, so there's hope the game will get that final polish that'd make it look really good.

Someone said the "pools are forming in real time"... to me it looks like the pools are not "forming" they are already there and I don't see them changing as the rain falls.
Speaking of the rain, in one point of the video (at later half) when the character looks up, it looks like the rain stays the same vertical lines when it should be falling down towards the characters face. It's so brief that I'm not wuite sure. Is the rain just a filter applied on top?
While the game itself looks nice to me it is the badly done rain effect in the recent video that actually makes it look worse. It would already be improved a little by not making the falling rain so white and heavy lines, a more subtle effect with less contrast would be more effective.
