For some reason I think Return Fire could be awesome on the DS.

However, none of them seemed to have the same flavor as that first one. NFS2 was good, as well- worthy of a reprisal in spirit (with super-exotic cars that can be difficult, if not testy, to drive for better or worse design foibles).
Phil said:I second that. The original Need for Speed was the best racer back then - track design unrivaled. It's a shame to see where EA took this series. :?
One game I'm still waiting for is a second PS2 version of Wipeout. :? Fusion was good, but had a few big flaws which would have been great to see gone in a second PS2 attempt.

Oh yes Descent was fantastic! used to give me a hell of a headache and even nightmares (dont ask) but it was such a great game!!!
Rollcage was also made by Psygnosis. It only had one game, and didn't do so well, so I'd hardly call it a competitor to WipEout.z said:Z.O.E : why the Hell isn’t a third chapter out yet?! Or even announced?!
Gex : a groovy gecko with an attitude! Loved the costume change for each level.
Roll Cage : WipeOut’s only competitor!
Twisted Metal: the king of car-combat, why are you in the dark? What if PSP wasn’t around?
Super Mario Sunshine is an altogether separate entity from Mario 128. The title was rumored since the Gamecube was called the Dolphin, and when the GC was first shown, it had a "Mario 128" tech demo (a.k.a. "100 Marios") that was supposed to be Miyamoto's little joke for the fans. With Mario Sunshine getting a lukewarm response, Miyamoto revealed that he had been working on another Mario title that was supposed to be as revolutionary to the series as Mario 64. That game was the "official" Mario 128, and it's development history has been documented in a few places, that I'm feeling too lazy at the moment to Google up.Blade said:Mario got his 128-bit sequel in SMS
There were two Rollcage games, and RC is faster, fiercer and much crazier than Wipeout.Rollcage was also made by Psygnosis. It only had one game, and didn't do so well, so I'd hardly call it a competitor to WipEout.
Twisted metal.. What if PSP wasn't around u ask?... Well, PSP is around so
Not really. The game was so old they canned it and started production on its sequel.Guden Oden said:Did someone mention Too Human yet? It's bad when it get cancelled in two successive generations; or maybe not cancelled in the PSX era but at least moved over into next-gen territory and then cancelled.
Or are they still working on it?
