Well, after the disappointment people recieved from the so-so demos on the Xbox 360 kiosk, and zero news on PS3 and Rev, there isn't really much to talk about besides speculations.

I have Shadow of the Colossus US version at home. Can't play it cause i'm still waiting for the import hack thing for PS2.

Basing a purchase on the number of pipes in a GPU is just funny.

I'm not judging you, you buy what you want for the reasons you want, it's just a funny notion to see people going into the shops and buying consoles because of the number of pipes the GPUs inside them have...

You're one of the people buying hardware because of the specs (not even the actual performance! just the numbers), which is fine, but also explains a lot about you.

Well, they don't loose billions, in the long run the make lots and lots of money. Now maybe MS lost a lot of money on the xbox, but that was due to crappy deals and what not, nothing that they were aiming at, this time around you might have seen that they are much more cost efficent, because in the end they want to make money.

Sure they are aiming at powerfull hardware so that the games will look better which will hopefully lead to more games being sold. So you see it s about the games, it would be pretty boring to just a pretty 3d scene to look at but nothing to play and even more boring with a console with 128 pipes and nothing to play...

Of course they want to make it more powerful, or as powerfull the economics allow, no doubt, but they do aim to make money n the hardware, not loose billions, and what would all that power be good for, if you don't have any games. Because if anything that were MS has lost lots and lots of money, by bying developers, remember RARE?. Why wouldn't they put that money on making the hardware more powerfull instead?...

No one is debating anything. You're just not getting the point. MS and Sony have to meet certain performance demands, and anything above that line is an extra, which WILL be cut if it loses them too much money.
Obviously they know graphics drives sales.

I only commented on the image you created of someone going into a shop and go "Should i get an X360 or a PS3... Mmmm PS3 has 32 PIPES!!! So i'll buy that one!".

Better hardware is "the whole thing" and obviously some people will buy a console because they feel it has better hardware, but not just because of 32 pipes!!!

Now stop trolling if you don't get people's points.

If anything, they buy PS3 because of Cell and Bluray or what RSX can do, not because of the bloody pipes!!
