FZero website up with a video and a wallpaper

The video is fantastic, it features gameplay and some fantastic CG. I'm curious to know if what I seen in the video is bump-mapping. There's one track shown at the end of the video that look bump-mapped but i'm not sure if it is, I know some of you guys can tell whats bump-mapping and whats not so I would like it if you could explain.

This is going to be the highest selling game developed by Sega this generation. Anybody that looks at this video and not be able to see why this game is highly anticipated is mind boggling.

This is in alot of ppl I know most wanted list. The graphics and framerate surpass any other racer currently on the market imo. I just hope it has that patented tight F-Zero control. I'll be the first to pick it up in my area. There (for some reason) is alot of Nintendo fans in my area. Yes Sony has a huge presence but it seems that the lines really form large when there are new (big hyped) Nintendo releases. I'll be in the store line when this one ships as well.

hook this game up to a 47" widescreen HDTV and 4 player action!! Who would leave the house?

This game is defintely a must have.

I haven't the faintest fricken idea what Magnum means by his attack on F-Z:s art. The game looks friggin' brilliant, and that's there's to it.

I wonder though, how much of a difference will it be between the arcade and GC versions, considering the fact the arcade has 2x the amount of main RAM? Also, is the movie entirely from the GC version, or some of both?

Regarding the art style: The environments look fantastic. Gorgeous, sexy, and sweet. The ships, on the other hand, look like an eight-year-old's plastic toys. Why they have to look all pink and blue with yellow flames on them instead of being shiny, metallic, and sleek, I just have to wonder.

They are sleek, but why do they have to have the same boring metallic look of everything else?

It's for the spectators, and probably similar to Formula 1 cars which are seemingly held together by the massive plastering of ads on them. 8)

F1 teams are also often identified by colours: Williams is blue, Ferrari is red, McClaren is black... etc. There's even one team whose name I can't remember - only the colour... the announcer almost solely referred to them as "The Orange cars."

Basically it's so the vehicles have some personality... as though the drivers themselves painted them to match their desired 'look'.

Faster loading times obviously, arcades have to be as fast as possible.

Dude, the "ships" as you call them (they're hovercraft man, lol! :) ) HAVE shiny metallic sheen, didn't you see the first video?

Also, the reason for the design and coloring is tradition. F-Zero hovercraft look that way, it's so you'll recognize each competitor easily.

Remember, the game started out as a hand-pixelled title on the SNES, no flashy 3D-rendering junk or anything like that. :)

by art i don't mean the tracks by itself, in fact it is the character design that i find very poor.. i saw the cover of the game it just looks stupid.

Um... whatever.

Magnum, if pong had good box art, would that matter?

Anyway, the game looks freakin awesome  I can't wait to play it :)

the thread is not about pong but about f-zero...

look at the CG cutscenes, bleech

i hope there is an option to cut them off.

Magnum, the apparent negative IQ in your two last posts in this thread is making my head hurt.

Bad box art? Bad CHARACTER DESIGN? Jesus bleedin christ! It's a racing game! What difference does box art or char design do for a RACING GAME???

Could you possibly find something even MORE irrelevant to complain about perhaps?
