Free XBOX Live

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not but you can continously make new xbox live accounts with new MSN email addresses and continously get your free xbox live gold month.

Now if you're a serious gamer this won't be taken into consideration.

But if you're just doing it for some free online play then its too easy.

Um, aren't stuff yyou buy from the marketplace tied to your account?

Would be kind of a bummer really if you had to either not buy anyhting or throw it all away after a month..

Peace.

Honestly though who buys emoticon packs of xbox live.
Who really takes the content off xbox live seriously other then demos and some previews.
Xbox live so far other than online play and some demos has really offered dick.
The only good aspect that I found inovative is the Live Arcade but thats about it.

The Arcade for instance, would you really want to buy those games each time? No, you wouldn't. There is potentially other stuff. But this really just seems like abusing the system.

Well hang on a second.
What if I don't buy arcade games.
What if I just want to play gears of war, and not give a rats arse about ratings.
I just want to get in there and frag a few locust like any casual gamer wants.
I don't see how its inconvenient.
Or lets just say I want to download a demo and trial out. Take Phantasy Star Online.
Is it really that inconvenient.
Lets just say i haven't touched my 360 in a while and I want go online.
Now I don't touch my 360 for months at a time.
Why would I subscribe to xbox live gold.

Okay? Thanks for sharing it then, like has been pointed out most would find it rather inconvenient and with some rather major draw backs.

Me...
Me...
My ditching Comcast TV and going HDTV OTA through Media Center and using Video Marketplace would disagree...
Creators Club is a household hit and a hit with more than just my household, at least according to some of the people on my friends list
Live Arcade is great

overall, it doesn't seem like the system is for you.

This thread can go nowhere other than, What type of person would use this method if they are also proclaiming the service is worthless...to each their own I suppose.

Champ sorry but I don't see how going HD through Media Centre have anything to do with XBL.
I use the MCE capabilities and I think its great especially with windows live and transcode360.
Content wise there is much to be desired from the Video Marketplace.

What I was trying to point out was that there is a little loophole that people can take advantage of. Now I'm not sure if Microsoft is aware of this but wouldn't it be a better move for them to lock the free XBox Live month to the console rather than an email account?

Obviously you would have a permanent account which you would use to DL and purchase games, demos video's etc.

You can easily create additional accounts for play on XBlive, and switch between them on the fly. As long as you don't mind making an additional hotmail/360 account every 30days.

This is like a year and half old news though...how much time are you going to spend to save $5 a month?

The major drawbacks is the fact you would have to re-create your friends list every 30 days, unless you just wanna play with strangers.

Actually,

this thread makes a good point.
Not everyone is going to use Live, hell, I signed up for an silver account and rarely use it at all.

My original XBox never touched Live.

MS should create a tier of just online gaming available without all of the downloadable stuff, I would jump all over that tier.

Would you not have to pay the charges in order to access that account? What would be the point at all even? This "free" Live is about being able to play without costing you money, your system costs you money plus hassle for some unknown reason.

No you wouldn't have to. You're missing it. Do you use live at all?? You never have to pay anything to 'access' an acount, all accounts are accessible, and all accounts can download and purchase content off Marketplace., Gold or Silver. The only difference is one can game online, the other cannot.

You would have one permanent silver account, (which could be upgraded to gold at any time) and you would use that account anytime you wanted to permanently buy something. A TV show, an arcade game, DLC for a game, whatever...

Then, if you wanted to play online, and were to cheap to upgrade your permanent account to gold, you would create an additional dummy account, with a free 30day trial, and login to that account anytime you wanted to play online. After 30 days, you make another dummy account, rinse and repeat.

Like I said, it's not my system, I have a membership, though I hardly use it.
