thank you for the clarificationyou have to have base compatible with playstation and wheel compatible with xbox and they you can play on both platforms (playstation checking compatibility via base, xbox via wheel)

Looks stunning but why does this look staged? There’s loads of points where the wheel and in game don’t match…
the amount of everything on screen in jungle is simply mind blowing

Look at 1 min in, he changes view and you see the in game wheel, it suddenly turns right in the game but he doesn’t turn the wheel and he changes the view again…it’s E3 Kinect all over agin lol
they aren't 1:1 between what's displayed and your steering rotation. Each wheel has it's own characteristics in terms of how much wheel can be turned before it hard locks; some do more than others and you pay for that.Looks stunning but why does this look staged? Spoken like someone who didn’t watch the bit I was talking aboutthey aren't 1:1 between what's displayed and your steering rotation. Each wheel has it's own characteristics in terms of how much wheel can be turned before it hard locks; some do more than others and you pay for that.
And in real life, some of those steering wheels can spin significantly further. So I suspect the in game wheel is matching the car. The steering wheel is just providing inputs.
There are a slew of adjustments you can make on your steering wheel setup that may not reflect 1:1 and be setup for harder things like drifting etc, where you are trying to find an angle to hold, etc.
I can't really say, except, between Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon, I do better with wheel on the former and controller on the latter. So spending the time to calibrate and prepare your wheel was not something I bothered with on Horizon.
You'll notice that camera changes are instant, and he does it several times throughout the video. If he were to memory the precise timing each time to hit that, that would be unlikely and probabilistically inhuman.
But yea, last but not least; the faster you go, the less steering input you need to turn your car. The slower you go, the more you need to turn the wheel to turn the car.
Just odd is all, looks amazing and I’ve no doubt it’s real footage (FH4 looks amazing too) - but I just find the steering wheel odd, especially that 1 min mark.i Need to buy thicker tinfoil hat
uh anyone know how heavier FH5 compared to FH4?
I'm in a conundrum where I'm planning to buy a steering wheel. turns out
Thus I'm thinking... what if... i simply play FH5 on my Ryzen 4500U laptop instead on my XSS? As all steering wheels works with Windows.
- there's no cross platform steering wheel (need to choose PS or xbox)
- all xbox steering wheels are being sold with no warranty here. While PS steering wheels got 1-2 years warranty
- PS steering wheels are around 50 dollars cheaper than xbox
on FH4, 4500u ryzen can do 1080p30 at medium dynamic.
Honestly, I did; I watched a lot of it. I don't see the issue is what I'm saying - it is normal behavior as per my experience in playing FH titles with a steering wheel.Spoken like someone who didn’t watch the bit I was talking about
The in game steering wheel moves significantly and the physical steering wheel doesn’t move at all - it’s on the one min mark as he’s switching views.
Thanks, that should work.

I didn’t really like how FH4 handled with a steering wheel (T150 on a PC). I switched to a controller quite quickly. Maybe I need to give it more time and try some setup guides.I even considering to buy a steering wheel! Been searching around... Then turns out there's no true cross platforms steering wheel. I need XS, PS5, pc compatibility. Bummer.
thank you for providing the officially licensed answer. My suspicion is that they simply used the same animation or logic as fh4. Where wheel turn animation is not 1:1 with real wheel.

Q: Why do the driver’s hands in cockpit view only turn the steering wheel 90 degrees to the left or right, instead of matching my own steering wheel?
A: A point of confusion among wheel users is the fact that the driver’s hand animations in cockpit view don’t turn the steering wheel more than 90 degrees in either direction. This does not represent the actual in game steering wheel rotation, just as the graphical tire steering lock angle is not a 100% representation of the actual physics steering lock. This is one of the reasons a dashboard camera view has been added to game camera views.
Q: Why do the car’s front wheels turning angle not exactly match my steering wheel angle?
A: Your steering wheel rotation is matched in physics, but not always directly matching the visual angle of your car’s front wheels, depending on the car and speed it is moving. This is only a visual animation of wheel turning and does not map 1:1 with your input or the actual physics controlling the wheels.
Not all steering wheels can go 360 etc. all wheels have different lock points on how far they can turn. The animations can’t do 1 to 1. Some people may prefer it to be a like F1 setup where it’s just a little over 180. And others may prefer turning 360+So weird.I wonder why they do this instead of visually trying to closer approximate the steering and vehicle wheels. The physics are correct (which sounds like the more complicated problem) but the animations are not
I had the same issue. Horizon just felt terrible to drive with a wheel. Like I couldn’t get any traction.I didn’t really like how FH4 handled with a steering wheel (T150 on a PC). I switched to a controller quite quickly. Maybe I need to give it more time and try some setup guides.
Just an FYI if FH5 will be your primary driving game.
