Formula 1 - The Eco Friendly Motorsport!

I know the differance between launch and traction controll. No launch controll would be good I think because you can take a few places if you are good at starting and its fun to see some wheelspin.

I know about the MS ECU. Im already looking forward for the first time a car will suddenly slow down and all the screens in the pits will go blue. That would be priceless.

However, I believe next year they are moving to a control ECU - Mclaren Electronics and Microsoft[7b] have a contract to supply the entire grid with a single ECU that will enable the FIA to standardise the electronic control features across all the cars.

Wow! What a choice!

You've already got that - with the exception of Traction Control being on. One of the reasons the Renault have been much quicker off the grid for the past few years is not because of any kind of launch control, but because they had a vcery torquey car with a very heavy rearward bais.

Curiously, the introduction of a control tyre this year may not be in Renaults favour - now that a control tyire is being used Bridgestone are using a much more even balance across all tyres, so cars that are rearward biased wont get as much benefits as those with a more even distribution. This is one of the reasons that McLaren have been posting pretty favourable testing times (even though they, like Renault, have little prior knowledge of Bridgstone tyres) as their cars have been developed with a much more even alround distribution.

Well I dont think anyone has real experiance with the bridgestones since they are completely new and not based on older models at all. Atleast not models that still go with the cars. Except for Ferrari maybe, they probably got data earlier than other team but imho they deserve that since they basically funded bridgstone all alone as the only team for the last couple of years.

Man, I am stoked for the new season. Under 2 weeks left now! :)

This carbon offset program from the FIA looks like window dressing. If you do not take into account the carbon taken to make all the fuels, oils, metals, baking the carbon fibre, hours spent testing the tyres etc etc etc etc ... then it isjust a bit or PR.

Like Massa in 16th place ? What a cunning plan ! :p

Well Massa is irrevelant  Ferrari probably broke his car on purpose to send him a message!! meaning that Massa is Kimis' dog :devilish: In all fairness it would have been nice to see Kimi beat him fair and square, but I don't mind, Massa will make enough points for Ferrari so that constructors championship will also go to Italy...

I have a sympathy for Mclaren though as I had gotten used to the fact that there were a Finnish driver in there, but things change and now it's forza Ferrari!!

edit: Besides due to Ferraris' supremacy Massa will probably rise pretty high tomorrow.

As I suspected: Hamilton Rocks!

Yes Hamilton showed that he is a force to be reckoned with. Excellent race and quite strong start for Mclaren as team too, usually it takes them like half a season to get the car working proberly, still as valiant as their efforts are, there is no stopping Ferrari as the reign of Kimi has just begun

Kovalainen looked like a total disaster though...

Well, this time it took them a whole season (or two?) to get the car working properly. ;)

Things are certainly looking good. Shame though that Massa couldn't compete, it would have been interesting to see where they stand. But for now Kimi looks like the favorite this year.

You cant really blame kovalainen I think. He didnt do that bad and in the end it was obvios he probably was tired because he started to make so many errors. What's worse I fisicalle, already years in F1 and for the past few years in (one of) the best car and he still doesnt get good results.

Well Fisichella results and his whole weekend was great compared to Kovalainens' and since we know that Fisichella is not among the best what does that make Kovalainen? He was 13th in the time trial which is really bad. He shouldn't be tired, the amount of kilometres he has driven a Formula 1 car last and this year is second to none. Of course he lacks race experience, but his condition should be good and the amount of Km driven is very high. I know it's just one race and certainly It's going to be interesting see what happens, I lost my faith in him and if I'm perfectly honest I have never considered him to be a great driver. My eggs are in Kimis basket

The fact is that he is a rookie and this was his first race, finishing 10th while your teammate, with years of experiance finishes 5th isnt that bad of a result. You cant really judge him on only 1 race.
