Final Fantasy VII Remake

There is no obvious way to claim this from a browser or a PS4, which can be a problem given console constraints and if it’s a limited-time offer. I think the only way to claim the PS+ “free” upgrade is on a PS5, and even that sounds convoluted (click the second “game” in the drop-down Version menu that consists of {game, game} to unlock the claim button for the upgrade).

true, it's not possible to do it from a browser or a PS4, but there is nothing to suggest that this is a limited-time offer. So best for the people in my situation is to wait for a PS5 and then upgrade.

btw. PS Store is showing the upgrade as "PS+ Included"

yes, it seems so... also you need to install PS4 version on your PS5 first and then redeem/download PS5 version.

Also stand on one leg during a full moon. My upgrade just worked but jesus. Good job, Sony. :nope:

Yup, I see the same icon on the web store. It’s “not available” if I click on it.

If anyone's having issues, there were some suggested action steps to take with Sony PlayStation Support posted in this thread
Yup, disc owners can apparently ask Sony support to remove the disc upgrade license on their account in order to claim the PS+ digital upgrade.

This begs the question, what happens if you let your PS+ sub lapse and then try to play a disc version? Will you have to get Sony to remove the PS+ upgrade from your account to gain access to the disc upgrade? Why do upgrades for separate products (Sony considers a disc install distinct from a digital one) conflict?

I'm also curious what Sony were trying achieve (or what problem they were trying to solve) by having disc, digital and different region versions of games all having difficult product IDs. It's been a thing since PlayStation 2 where it wasn't an issue, and wasn't even much of an issue on PlayStation 3 either but it's not clearly complicating updates for some, and accessing save data.

I recall this happened with Horizon Zero Dawn as well. I bought HZD at launch on disc and completed it. I never bought the DLC but got the HZD Complete Digital Edition earlier this year (a PS+ inclusion I think) and when I started it I could see all my saves from the disc version but @Nesh could not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Having different product IDs and managing the saves has to be more work so there had to be a reason to implement this scheme in the first place..

There's a Workaround fortunately. By using save wizards service, you can resign save file from one region to another.

I'm still not playing this until the PlayStation 6 remaster, but how the f*** do you know this?
IIRC
Its very visible in scenes where the character was doing action stuff. The camera angle in the scenes also didn't help to hide it.

It would be nice if it becomes truly multiplatform, but I won't get any hopes up. I'm expecting it to be something lame like a cross-over event with Fortnite with FF7R skins. :p
