File won't go away...

No, the solution is of course to buy a larger HD so that you don't need to delete the file.

Buy a new hard drive and copy all the files but the one that you can't delete off it, if that doesn't work try it in safe-mode. :)

Try booting into Safe Mode and deleting it.

But only after you try to delete it using Knoppix. :D

Ah! and in times when u need that extra-safety use Durex.

There are some files/folders that windows does not allow you to delete, such as:
xerox, msn gaming zone, among other files.
There is only one solution to date that ive ever come across that might help. You need to turn off windows file protection. THis solution whoever comes at the expance of some safety.

If your problem comes from regular files, on your hard drive. You might look at defraging your hard drive, and then checking for errors. After that you should be able to delete the files/folders.

could you let me know what type of file/folder your trying to delete?

Start->Run
Cmd
Sfc /CANCEL
Sfc /PURGECACHE
Sfc /CACHESIZE=0
Exit

That should kind of (allthough not really) do it. You can also tweak some settings in the group policy console. To *really* disable it you need to do a bit of hex editing on some windows dll's. Don't.

I would highly highly discourage you from even attempting from doing this. :) unless you have all files backed up else where and have your original windows cd incase you have to reload.

I think the easiest and safest way to get rid of the file is to boot into safe-mode and then delete the file.
That's how I've been able to delete such files, or in DOS mode.

I fear i'll have to make your world break apart but this WONT work for the special file i can't delete. Not possible in dafe mode either.

Time to come with a new idea guys. (No it's no virus)

You tell us what it is and we give you the solution........

Meybe i should start a poll.
What do you think the file is:

1) Private home made porn video
2) Private home made murder video
3) Blueprints of the construction of a DIY nuke
4) Other (Specify)
