There are loads of official rules but the point of a referee is to interpret them using common sense, not just by sticking to the exact letter of the law. Players will always jump when there's a cross into the box, especially on a corner, and often attackers will touch the keeper. If every goal was disallowed when this happened then there'd be very few goals and the game would be extremely dull. FIFA/UEFA are getting silly in their rules - like, from yesterday, it's now an automatic yellow card offence for a player to celebrate a goal by pulling their shirt over their head. How long before someone misses an important final because of this rule? Let refs interpret rules, not impose them.dreamin' said:I already posted the excerpt from the official rules somewhere in this or the other euro thread, it's forbidden to shove/impair the goalee in their movement inside the goal area. it's a clear rule, it wasn't followed by the english team.
Well, point is the rule is there, and ref's are not allowed to interpret it... The shirt rule has been criticised, and by ref's too, but it's a strict instruction from th UEFA to their ref's, so, they have to follow it or they will not be referee at the next big game...Diplo said:There are loads of official rules but the point of a referee is to interpret them using common sense, not just by sticking to the exact letter of the law. But the ref had a goatee and dyed his hair, had to be evil
Greeks because they're the underdogs and yeah, because of their german coach. Portugal because I like their football philosophy, players and they've been a great host (plus I've got a Portugal T-Shirt)...Deepak said:Greeks bec'se their coach is german , portugal?? :?
