DVD playback problem under Vista

Agreed. Mine was the "easy" solution.

In any case, if that doesn't work, uninstall everything video related, and do a clean install.

Yeah, probably going to move back to 32bit anyway soon, due MSI being lazy and not doing any 64bit drivers for TV-card, at least the 32bit BDA drivers for XP work on 32bit Vista too (even if they're really easily causing BSODs), and then I could get back to Irssi

I had the same problem with 32bit Vista. I'm not next to my computer now so I can't check if it was fixed when I reinstalled my OS.

This happened with Lotr: Two Towers but there were other DVDs which worked just fine. And I'm not sure but I think that VLC played it just fine.
