Does the Cg interface in Doom3 work?

Does anybody know if it's possible to write shader programs for Doom 3 in Cg? Or do you have to write them in straight ASM?

Also, on a slightly off-topic note, what is the difference between Cg and HLSL?

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure the Search function of this site will reveal to ton of conversations about that very issue. If you find that people seem to be being slightly rude to you, it's because they expect you to do a little research on your own before asking questions here.
